Made a new thread because swd hijacked the other one with his anti Whiz stance..

Good to see they had all that pent up energy left to fight after a 4 quarter game.

How bout channeling some of that energy for the opponent boys?

I love it.. Shows they are pissed off about losing and care about winning.. Teams of yester year would have just kicked back and went out clubbing later in the nite.. Not this team.. They are fighting..

Thank you very much for that. There should be an option when you start a thread to exclude certian posters from spewing their trash upon it. Granted, I would probably only be able to access half the board, but I would be willing to take the good with the bad.

Dockett was still pissed at the end of the game. I'm sure he was telling the O-lineman for Seattle that they can settle it after the game.

I don't know about that. Ryan's teams had a couple of fights and they sucked and still quit.

Eh, I believe Ryan encouraged that kinda behavior.. Like he thought it would make the team better in some weird way..

Meh, censoring others is always a bad idea, who gets to make that call?

(skorpp, obviously but in the "grand scheme" I meant)

I love DD... Love his intensity and his never-ending motor... Wish the rest of the team had his heart and guts...
BUT, his penalty was nothing but pure stupidity... It killed us... We had some measure of momentum at that point, and everything after that penalty was bad for the rest of the game...

That said, I hope he kicked the crap out of Blackstock...

Good!

Dockett was held all freaking day long. They will probably show the highlight of the fumble, Dockett is being held big time. Even the announcers talked about the holds at one point that they where a little perplexed that the refs did not see them. Dockett has a right to be ticked. I doubt Blackstock had to say much to get a passionate guy like Dockett who was frustrated with BS all day started. For the Cardinals a locker room tussle is a good thing. They do not like losing now, expect to win and seem to get ticked now when they don't. I like it. Do I wish to see it every game...heck no, but it makes more sense than the Seattle strength coach going after it with another coach on the sidelines. I will support this team tooth and nail to the end, and hope they come out swinging against the Saints. Fight like hell Cards and forget this game, there is nothing you can do about it now but worry about the Saints.

I have mentioned a couple times but no one will open their eyes and see, I love DD but he gets some REALLY STUPID penalties. Hopefully one of his teammates called him on it.

I hope Blackstock didn't think he was the one that should call him on it. He is hardly a leader on this team. Actually he is lucky to be on the team.

I understand that the penalty converted the 4th down for SEA, but they would have had a chip shot field goal anyway.

That would have put them up by 16. With the way our offense was playing, we couldn't have made that up. Not today.

The int after the onside kick was a much, much bigger play.

The refs are de-emphasizing holding for some reason this year. It happens on both sides of the ball--Lutui especially holds way too often. Dockett needs to play under control.

Agreed, the int after the onsides kick recovery sealed it.

blackstock? are you kidding? What is he doing fighting anyone? It must have been DD bagging on him for sucking because he has no reason to open his mouth.

DD would rip him in half.

On that roundtable show, the beat writer for the Suns said "it's about time Dockett hit somebody" and Glen Parker shut him up right away saying "let's not go there - he is the only guy that is mostly double and triple-teamed."

Might I also add that when he's not double-teamed, he is being held. No wonder he was pissed all day and took it out on Blackstock. I think we need more guys like DD (penalties and all).

Becuase thats one thing this team needs more of, Penalties.

Penalties and fighting with others doesnt mean heart, passion, intensity, it just means your doing something stupid and have no self control. It does absolutley nothing to help your team what so ever. Its called disciplne and it is what seperates good teams from average ones.

I have no issue if Dockett did in fact punch out Blackstocks lights (not that any of those lights were on anyway....). However, the penalty was just plain stupid... On a play when we just stopped them on 3rd down?? We were still in the game! You just don't do such a thing. Great players just don't...

Since I dont know the whole story of this fight or how heated it actually got I cannot comment on it. Mostly talking about penalties. Although I think 95% of fights are just plain old dumb in the first place and counterproductive.

Just to show how nothing is certain in the NFL, according to nfl.com offensive stats, the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys are both in the top 10 in penalty yards for the season.

Having played sports through college and have been a part of and witness to several locker room brawls (as well as on-field brawls against the opposition - mostly in baseball by the way... strange...), I tend to agree with your comments on fighting.
However, I also know that there are times when a statement needs to be made - in the locker room. And a guy like Dockett, who leaves his soul on the field each and every game, and who is feeling the frustration of being singled out on our line by the opposition as he is the only one they seem to focus on, I think DD is/was the perfect guy to send this message. Blackstock must have said something to get DD on his case. And if that's the case, I would fully expect DD to beat the living crap out of him!! I honestly hope that is how it went down...
