Dear Mr. Dockett,
Your complaint has been noted & all of us that plunk down our hard earned dead presidents to watch you & your teammates miss tackles, get run over by a "rookie" runningback & make backup quarterbacks look all-pro won't boo anymore. The good news for you is any boo's (or cheers) you might hear will dwindle down to a whisper as you & your teammates continue on your conquest of getting the #1 draft pick in 2006! A season ticket holder since 1993... (Note: I didn't rank on the offense!) Try winning 2 or 3 in a row & see if the stadium emotions change..... :soapbox:

Guys on this board are probably the best fans the Cards have ever had. Guys have been supporting this team for 60 years and beyond and we keep coming back for more. Cheering for a team that is playing the way we play would make us look like idiots. I suspect booing gets the attention of the owners who have the power to make things better. I live in Little Rock but have spent thousands of dollars in Direct TV, Big Screen, hats, and all the other stuff. I may be the only Cardinal fan in the entire state. Before Steve Little died we actually had radio broadcast of Cards games just because Little was on the team. I had a few drinks with Steve from time to time after his accident. He really was drinking a lot. I assume the Cards built his home which would accommodate someone in his condition. He lived with his brother and of course died young some years ago. Was he not a first round pick by the Cards? One of the few first round kickers I can recall.

Yes I believe he was a first round pick. Fond memories of the Cards in those days. I was very young but I believed they really had a chance to be competitive. I got hooked by their good 70s teams. I still keep track of the Cards but I also watch Denver now. They are exciting like the Cards teams of the 70s were. I like watching Plummer play. I so wanted him to be doing that for the Cards. His prospects for success excited me like no QB since Lomax. Plummer this year QB rating of 91 with 12 TDS 3 Ints. If developed and supported he could of done that for the Cards. I cant keep waiting for the Cards. Life is too short not to root for and watch a team that generates excitement. I had to find another exciting team to root for.

I don't know

guess I'll be the odd man out, as Deanna has already spoken up. I don't do it. I yell "COME ON" or "WHAT ARE YOU DOING", or something similar to that but, I don't boo them. And, I think Dockett has a point.
It should be so hostile for the other team and their fans, that they don't want to come to SDS. AND most of "THEIR" fans are from here. Don't boo your team, kick their asses and get them out of here.

In a crowd setting booing is the only way to let the team know your frustration. Unless the whole crowd does a collective "What are you Doing" chant.

It is really simple, give us a reason not to boo or to cheer, its up to them not us.

Wish there were some way to keep all those quality seats out of the hands of the people who sell them to fans of our opponents. It's really aggravating to see the opponent fans in the seats change every home game when those seats are supposedly sold out as season tickets.

You'd be suprised

at how loud one guy can get. Enough to have players flip him off, the other team's, or to have a coversation with Porter or Sanders, or an official or two.
I agree DJ. Someone should figure out a way to end ticket brokering.
But, until then, hostility may be our only option. I've mellowed in the last few years, course, there are reasons. However, I'm ready, if my group is ready.

I don't see how beating up opposing fans is going to get the Cardinals to play better.

Booing by the fans sure beats not showing up and buying tickets. I had more fun flying over North Vietnam than watching some of these games and that is no bull.

I understand both sides. I would like to see 65,000 fans behind the team cheering or booing. But Darnell this town will only support you if your winning, except for the 30,000 who come to every game and bleed every Sunday night. We want so badly to do nothing but stay positive and yell and scream and help the team with support. Take this year. We played Carolina. You and your teamamtes played so good for 3 and 1/2 quarters. The crowd was extatic. I'm standing yelling defense, defense and what happens. The Carolina team, takes the ball 95 yards and scores then wins.

I will be there this Sunday in my $63 seats with my family and grandpa will be yelling and screaming and hoping. Will you guys let me down again. Or will this team get fired up and play defense like all of you are cappable . I know you guys work hard, get paid in most cases a lot, and try never to quit. Well how about a pay day for us fans.

Thanks
GBR

:stupid:

I never boo them, no matter how badly the've played. I don't see what good it does. If anything, it prolly demoralizes them.

I agree with that. I hate booing your own team, wearing bags on head, all that kind of nonsense. I will boo or jeer the (expletive) out of the other team, the refs and individual opposing players however. That's my job as a fan. But my own team, as pathetic as they might be playing, is off limits to the boos. They know well enough that they suck as they walk off the field.

Behind you
fans pay good money..which we make a lot less than they do...and our bosses will boo us if we weren't doing our job...if not fire us.

If I could make 20 bucks for people to watch me do my job...I'd let them boo all day long if I was doing good or bad.

...think about it Dockett...we pay money to see you play like you have in the past...if you are dogging it or playing below your ability..as the offense has...you'd boo too.

You should be booing them on the sidelines. (well maybe not)

It went completely over your head.

It is called a facetious remark. Hence the thumb up smiley.

Just thought I'd mention - I don't & haven't booed this team... But to be honest I don't have a problem with other folks booing when this team continually underachieves. No one, not one of us likes going home after a loss whether your a defensive tackle, attorney or shoe salesman. Hey I like Josh, I like Kurt, I like all the people, but Dennis Green's "explosive" offense has never made it from the team bus to the field in the last 20 plus or so games.

QUIT SUCKING and the booing will take care of itself.
Roger that.

Those of us living in the shadow of Giants Stadium during the seventies can remember when those "great" NY Giant fans constantly boo'd the team when it sucked. (One Sunday I saw a piper cub flew over the stadium dragging a banner saying in effect: "Enough's enough. We're sick of rooting for losers.")

Darnell - If you read this blog, you'll know that we fans are still with you. We're just doubly frustrated.

But trust me. It's better to be boo'd than ignored.
