Ha. No kidding. Sounds like the exact deal Cards made, except the 2nd year

Figured 2 years would do it, not sure why we couldnt offer a 2 year instead of a one. didnt like a one either way because same issues next yr.

We'll get the same or better production from Ed Stinson & Frostee. Then just grab Ngata and we're all set at NT.

I'm still stuck on March 5th, 2015. Since you are a time traveler, can you tell me some more useful information?

1. What does the final bracket for March Madness look like?

2. Who wins the NBA championship?

3. And, I won't be too greedy, can you please tell me the outcome of the first 30 DBacks games, including score?

Thanks in advance! :D

Bring it on Dockett...will make beating the 49ers even sweeter. I don't blame him for leaving, significant money difference, but that doesn't mean I won't like kicking his ass.

Stuff like this brings out the best in players...man, am I excited.

I can't agree with this. DD had a contact that was in place and Los didn't. The Cards had options as well and they exercised the right to cut him. Now one could argue that DD had to know he would never see the last year of that contract, but that something we'll never know.

It's the same thing. He was on the last year of his 3rd contract? In both situations, and others, he implied that everyone should be a team player. To be loyal to the team and take less. Take the team offer or negotiate a compromise. But swallow your pride and take less.

Given his age, and coming off injury, he was in even a bigger position to see the need to compromise then anyone he called out in his career.

See the key thing to remember is that DD put himself out there trying to create that standard for the team. He did it in a way to call out players who didn't subscribe to it during their negotiations (Dansby), to remind current players (at that time) to behave like that in future negotiations, and did it all publicly to show the fans the type of culture he wanted to create and always implying that he was above this sort of stuff.

Then when it was his turn, after signing three contracts...to compromise for a fourth, he didn't follow the standard he so publicly tried to create on this team and hold others accountable for.

Now he's on the 49ers, and it's a fact that all this time it was 'do as I say, not as I do'. He turned around and signed with an NFC West team to be against the 'team' he so publicly pushed others to sacrifice for after he could not.

Also he knows how good of a team we are, and how close we are, and he didn't want to be a part of it over a little bit more from a team that appears to be heading south.

I'm not mad or anything, but this is how it is. It turns out he's a hypocrite. He was entitled to see what he was worth and all of that, but since he tried so hard to create a different standard, and didn't follow it when it was his turn, he is one... no if's, and's, or but's.

I'll always have a soft spot for what he did for us, but now that he's on the 49ers, just like when they didn't have him, I hope we kick their butts.

I wonder how he'll react in his game back here... will he egg on the crowd?

Anyways, now we have more money for other positions, and lots of talent in FA and draft to do it.

The only thing that really sucks about this is the reaction in our locker room. These young guys really looked to Dockett for leadership. That's got to be replaced.

Exactly why I follow the name on the front of the jersey instead of the one on the back. And why my authentic jersey has my nickname on the back "GRIZZ".

I'll be grabbing his jersey off the clearance rack for my collection but to me, his career just ended. its cool. Boldins ended long ago.

2013 signings:
Stanton-hit
Cason-contributor
Mendenhall- starter
Brinkley-miss
Alexander-miss
Powers-hit
Bell-contributor
Shaughnessy-hit
Rucker-hit
Dansby- big hit
Abraham- big hit

There's 9 of 11 that came in and played well, or at least were positive in their production. Yeremiah Bell started but wasn't great. Still, he did what he was supposed to do and that's what FA is about. He wasn't wasted money like some of the guys in the past.

2014
Carlson- Some would say miss, I lean toward hit since he started.
Veldheer- big hit
Dwyer- miss
Larsen- starter, hit
Ginn- miss
Cromartie- big hit

4 of 6 hits.

That's 13 of 17 that have been either very productive or solid contributors. That's a pretty nice record in my book. Really the only complete whiffs were Dwyer, which was self-induced, Brinkley, and Ginn.

See, I don't qualify players so late in the offseason as being free agents exactly. Basically no one wanted Dansby, Abraham, Eric Winston or Foote. I think that it's fair to look at performance in free agency as those guys acquired before the draft.

2013 signings:
Stanton-hit
Cason-miss (if we're counting a hit as anyone who makes the roster, then that's a pretty low bar to clear. Cason played 15.4% of the defensive snaps)
Mendenhall- miss (3.2 YPC and fumbles that essentially lost games)
Brinkley-miss
Alexander-miss
Powers-hit
Bell-hit (I actually upgraded this. Bell could've been much worse)
Shaughnessy-hit
Rucker-hit

2014
Carlson- Miss. Was benched by the end of the year.
Veldheer- home run
Dwyer- miss
Larsen- starter, hit (I'm keeping it as a hit, although he probably wouldn't have been a starter if Cooper weren't such a ninny.)
Ginn- miss
Cromartie- big hit

So by that accounting, we're at 8 hits and 7 misses. Really, really good, even if some of them (Stanton, Larsen) are kind of questionable.
