McLemore was smaller than expected. Noel weight 206 lbs. Gobert is huge. Oladipo is about the size expected but long wingspan. Otto Porter has good size. While Burke is a small at 6-1, he is a legit 6-1. He might be a sleeper for the first pick. Marcus Smart was really foolish for not declaring. He could be first in this draft. Dennis Schroeder has huge hands for a small player (10.5"), two inches larger than Burke. That makes a difference for a pg.

Oladipo, who many on here want and I know nothing about, has better overall measurables than McLemore - particularly wingspan. Just noticing that....

Wingspan is not that relevant for a guard.

Oladipo measured better than I expected, I thought he might measure under 6'4.

McLemore maybe slightly shorter than expected but he was always said to be 6'5. McLemore has big hands and just 5% bodyfat?

Gobert has insane measurements.

Wingspan is not relevant for a guard? Am I missing something? At a basic level, wingspan is relevant for EVERY position on a basketball court. Sure, I get that wingspan helps shotblockers therefore lending to a more tangible relevance, but I generally thing that your statement is absurd in its implications.

Again, I don't follow college sports at all, so I don't know McLemore from Oladipo from Michael Jordan, but it is a basic fact that the guy with the greater wingspan has the advantage - all other things equal....

Great shooters often have rather short wingspans is something I noticed.

Anyway the difference in wingspan is barely over an inch.

By the way where did you get those measurements? Yesterday on tv they said that the measurements would be taken on friday and released later.

Wingspan is a huge benefit for a defender with both blocks and steals. Oladipo and McLemore have the same standing reach so they are really the same size.

Dwayne Wade has a huge wingapan. That is part of what makes him so effective.

Talent is what makes Wade effective.

McLemore has a higher standing reach if we are going to nitpick.

Also Paul Coro reports that Noel weighed 230lbs but he probably misread the data.

Which would be much more relevant if he had claimed that wingspan was the only reason Wade is effective. If you don't believe that Wade's length has a lot to do with his success than you simply aren't watching the same game as the rest of us. Dwyane is roughly 6'5 with a 6'11 wingspan. If he were 6'5 with a 6'5 wingspan we'd probably have never had to learn how to misspell his name.

I appreciate the measurements JCSunsfan, but my eyes have a problem reading it in the present format. Must be getting old. :)

I'm thinking some team will take a chance on Gobert in the top eight with his measurements if only as a potential defensive stalwart and rebounding. I wonder if his game would compare to JaVale McGee in Denver?

Im sorry, it looks like they are both exactly the same (8' 4.5") to me.

I got these numbers from what I thought was a trustworthy source.

There is no way Noel is 230. Kid is skinny as a rail. He is a kid though. You look at him and he has a very immature body. I assume he will fill out a lot in the next few years.

Someone just tweeted that both Oladipo and McLemore scored 42" vertical jumps. That's impressive.

Noel has probably been doing nothing but strength exercises since he blew out his knee, its also been a year since he was last weighed, and at his age a year is a long time for his body to develop.

Him being around 230 is not at all surprising.

I hereby predict that McLemore will go #1. Feel free to call me out if I am wrong.

That's a bold prediction. I'd think you'd get more praise for getting it right than being called out for getting it wrong.

I do think it makes a difference on which team has the first pick which we'll know soon (21st?).

That is really impressive. If Oladipo can continue to improve his shooting and develop SOME ability to create his own shot, he will be an amazing player.

Yeah with Oladipo measuring better than expected I am starting to like him better but still not as good as Noel or Mclemore. I put him in the next group with Porter and Shabazz.

Whoa! Slin's starting to come around on Oladipo! I put him right there with McLemore now. In my heart of hearts, I like him better, but I do not know if I could bring myself to pick him over McLemore when it comes right down to it.

And the dinosaur arms award for this draft goes to Cody Zeller. This really is one of the worst I've ever seen and makes me wonder if he will drop pretty hard even in this terrible draft.

Height without shoes: 6 '10.75"
height with shoes: 7 '0.25"
standing reach: 8 '10"

I mean that's almost weird. I know there's more to a 4-5 then his standing reach, but I can't think of one starting caliber 4-5 in the league who had a standing reach under 9'0". If I'm a scout I don't even care about height. It's standing reach on frontcourt players and then wingspan and wingspan/standing reach on perimeter players. I'd also like to see a big set of mitts as a bonus.

That can't be right, can it?

Steve

Edit: Well, I looked it up elsewhere and it is correct. I never wanted him in the first place but that's more than enough reason to stay away from him.

I have had enough of the Zeller brothers to even consider the measurements on Cody. I guess Lance Blanks did that to me, saying something like that Luke Zeller is the greatest shooter in the world. If the Suns draft a big man I want him to be tough enough to play inside.
