I assume Rosen's status is not worthy of a #1 pick based on how he played this year, but who knows, big arm, but a lot of red flags, reminds me of Jay Cutler.

Murray has some of that anti-authority streak in him too. Infamously chewed out high school coaches on the sidelines as a teenager. But Kyler loves Kliff and Kliff loves Kyler from the recruiting process. They are good buddies. I don't think we would see Kyler's high school antics with Kliff. We will find out pretty quick whether Rosen is willing to accept Kliff's coaching.

Not saying it would turn out that way, but the same things were said about Russell Wilson leading up to draft...

Because of his height and the fact that he was considered a legit baseball prospect, Wilson went in the 3rd round. People are talking about taking Murray #1 in the draft. That's craziness. Also, Wilson had 1500 pass attempts in college. Murray had 500. Murray is way riskier than Wilson IMO.

Even if we did blow our #1 pick on Murray, we'd waste our best opportunity to build a team around a young quarterback that has a hope of competing. Rosen didn't look that good this year, no doubt, but he has great natural ability. We just need to not drop him again into the worst possible offensive situation that a team could dream up. Lousy scheme, shuffling coaches, whole line out injured, etc. It would be virtually impossible for a great quarterback to overcome, let alone a first day rookie. We anointed him our QBOF and gave up a lot to get him. Let's give him a fair shake before throwing the baby out with the bath water.

Couch burner? We aren't West Virginia's fanbase, haha.

We like this Matt Wells guy a lot. Utah State is about 80 miles from Salt Lake airport. So he had to fly kids into Salt Lake and drive them 80 miles to the Utah State campus. I think he views Lubbock's isolation from Houston/DFW/Austin recruits as a huge upgrade compared to what he had in Utah.

He also brought a really good OC with him. David Yost was with Pinkel at Missouri for a long time. Torched the hell out of us in many of those old B12 games. I think these new guys are a lot more serious about recruiting than Kliff was (he didn't enjoy that crap at all, except recruiting QB position).

Kliff also left us a pretty good parting gift called Alan Bowman. Freshman QB is legit and we have pretty positive outlook with him for the next 3 seasons. But Bowman has to stay healthy. Multiple lung injuries this year killed our season and ultimately got Kliff fired.

As an Oklahoma State fan, I think the Red Raiders made a GREAT hire on your new HC.

IIRC, had bowman not been knocked out of the 2018 TT vs. OU game, TT may have prevailed. He was lighting OU up.

Glad for you that TT landed on it's feet then. Can't say that I'm one of those guys that pulls for "conference", so you won't catch me cheering for the Red Raiders (or Cowboys, or Longhorns), but if you're over here to follow KK, we are, of course, glad you're here, and welcome your prospective.

Interesting to think about how if Bowman hadn't suffered a collapsed lung this past season, KK would probably still be the coach at Tech.

Haskins in the only qb in this draft worth going number 1 overall.

Speculated on Wingo & Golic this morning, said Jacksonville might be interested in trading #1 for Rosen.

Would ya? I'm not sure Rosen is a leader.

Absolutely freaking not and just seeing posts like this is mind boggling when Wilks and myriad of other things would have made any rookie stagnant. I have one, what do you think was one of the main questions the Cards asked Kingsbury? Gee, maybe what is your opinion and how would you handle Rosen and 10 to 1 he answered in the positive to keeping him or he would not have this job... oh, and where the hell did you get the perception he is not much of a leader because he has been everything opposite of that from what we have access to but I guess you where in the huddle or still digesting that pre-draft character issue malarkey

What else would they say? You don't want to give away your plan. Plus, don't want to piss off Rosen if it doesn't happen.
Or, there’s no plan and this idiocy needs to die a quick death

Please stop the insanity! I would be totally pissed if they wasted the number one pick on Murray. There are so many holes to fill on this team that you don't go wasting a pick on another QB when we already have Rosen. KK will coach Rosen up and all will be fine at the QB position.

If you jettison your "QBOTF" every year just because the "next big thing" comes out of college, you'll be spinning your wheels forever.

Murray isn't just short, he's a toothpick that the likes of Aaron Donald will use to pick their teeth with.

He really has a cannon and can sling the ball but would need HUGE lanes to throw through. Think the O-Line here can open those?

What if...and obviously it's a BIG what if...but what about we end up keeping Rosen (not trade him)...and with all our picks somehow drafting Murry later in the first round via trading a pick or 2. We could have a dual threat qb situation and a helluva utility player in Murry as a wide receiver, punt returner, 2-point conversion guy, etc.

I'm greedy and probably no way that could happen...but man what a "weapon" with his speed could be.
