That was all Synder, Jacksons throw was a bit off and Snyders terrific play is what saved it, either way, it was rad.
The alternative was Byrnes [barring injury, which was the point, I think] in left, and a 2-2 score. A one-hop throw with pace from mid-left field is pretty good. 4 feet or so off-line, but I think that that actually helped on the play. If it is right on line, Snyder is in the path and gets creamed - perhaps alligator-arms the ball. Anyways, "all's well that ends well".

Eric Byrnes is an energy/hustle guy, like Craig Counsell, they never should've given him that contract, they just have to bite the bullet and use him as the 4th outfielder.
Interesting comparison. Yes, Byrnes can be called an energy/hustle guy, but how is he using it? Somersaults in the outfield. One-handed uppercut swings at bat. Acting immature on his TV show.

Craig Counsell made everyone in the lineup better. Eric Brynes is more like the guy Couns' replaced -- Tony Womack -- who stubbornly tried to hit every ball as high as he could, in pursuit of a few homeruns a year.

As the saying goes, Eric Byrnes is no Craig Counsell. :)
