I read that he'll have to forfeit $2.5 mil of his bonus money this season.

I just saw that as well. He loses the pro rated portion of the bonus. Since he has 4 years left, he loses 2.5 mill of the bonus plus 2.9 mill for game checks.

But it still means he has 3 years left on his deal and if we cut him next year that bonus still counts and we loss 2 mill in cap space if we cut him next year.

I said he was looking at eight games at least, and a year was not out of the question.

Hell, it's not like I just guessed. Anyone can google the CBA and the Personal Conduct Policy and read it themselves.

You were offering a view on the Personal Conduct Policy and you could very well be right, but the Commish has yet to decide on the assault charge.

This is a one year suspension for his third violation of the substance abuse policy.

Urban said that DWash can't even be at the facility during his ban. And he's suspended for a full calendar year, so next offseason is also affected.

I wholeheartedly disagree with the NFL policy on weed, but those are the rules. DWash is an unfathomable idiot for violating those rules yet again.

Meh sucks but it's his own damn fault. Had he not failed two drug tests before this it would've been shorter.

overthecap.com just tweeted that since it is drug related he will lose 5.9 mil this year, now does that go back towards our cap to sign some guys?

This was for drugs.

He will get another suspension next year for the criminal case.

I have heard talk of a more relaxed policy on pot in the NFL. Even the idea of a barter with the NFLPA to trade HGH testing for a more lenient pot policy. Don't know if that's just the media talking but if that were to happen I wonder if that would weigh into an appeal for a reduction in the suspension? Not likely but didn't big Ben get some games knocked off his ban a few years ago?

Yep. He will also be missing games in 2015 for the yet to be determined suspension for the abuse charge. We might not even care as he may not even be our problem after this season, minus the 2 mill cap hit he would incur.

Once the suspension is announced, it usually means the appeals process has already been gone through. Dwash statement accepting responsibility and even out right naming the drug of choice leads to believe they are not going to appeal or already have.

Weed should be off the penalty list for NFL players; it is a better (in terms of unwanted side affects) analgesic than oxy's and perks and has scientific studys showing benefits to healing concusions.

That being said; it is still a rule, even if idiotic, and there was a lot of money at stake; but damn, get the man out of lives! Vote Ron Paul.

Yeah ok!!!! How many times has he been caught doing it while knowing it's against the rules or even the law? Belittle it all you want, he's got a problem...it's called addiction!!! If I were a betting man he smokes pot most of his free time

I don't know about that. Do you think that he smoked even though he knew he would be suspended for a year and lose millions? Sure seems like addict behavior to me.

I know you've said this before but this just isn't true. You can clearly develop a dependency on pot and if you have the right type of personality, you can become addicted to just about anything.

Marijuana has been shown to be fairly safe in this regard (less addictive than caffeine for example) but still, something along the lines of 20% of heavy users experience symptoms when they stop using and roughly 10% of all users do so also. There are a lot of ways to define addiction, pot qualifies under just about every definition. Just because no one has yet died by coming off of a pot dependency does not mean you can't become addicted to it.

Have a buddy that went to rehab for marijuana dependency/addiction/whatever you want to call it. He needed it too.

been smoking since I was a teenager. Had a few times where I needed to take a break for jobs and other things (Like dwash shoulda been doing)

Had no problems during my breaks, no withdrawls, no nothing. not a smidgeon.

Ive been a nicoteen addict the same time frame, now that is an addiction. Totally different animal.

Hearing Daryl Washington not only a failed drug tests also missed multiple tests, missed tests is considered a positive test.

DWash doesn't have a weed problem. He has a stupidity problem.

It is well-known that pot users can experience periods of high-anxieity; usually when they have run out of pot.
