As @mortreport reported #azcardinals signing Dwight Freeney to a 1yr deal. Min salary with sack incentives.

Great we just got older and slower. Assuming this means Okafor is done. He might be in shape but he isn't in game shape. No training camp, no practice.

With Woodley and Freeney out there moving as fast as the fastest Sloths we are going to be having some big issues.

Those of you that are excited. You are excited about what happened in the past. There is a reason he wasn't on a team at this point. So temper expectations if you can otherwise you will most likely be disappointed in the results

Let me know who pissed in your cheerios, I will hunt them down for you.

CJ2K had no OTA's, no camp and no pre-season. He even missed the first game of the season. How's that working out?? ;)

Dwight Freeney had 53 pressures last year, which was the 6th most for 3-4 OLBs.

Same way we did with CJ? Frostee? Corey Redding? Corey Peters?

I'm sure SK did his homework and checked him out.

I'm not expecting him to play like he did in his prime but he was bringing pressure last year on a consistent basis which is what we need. QB hurries are important as they force mistakes.

We will have to wait and see....

Great signing. If he has gas left in the tank, the D just got better!

This would of made sense in TC but glad it got done. Pass rush is our weakest part of the d.

Keim seems to have more hits than misses in these situations. Low risk, high reward. Nothing wrong with it at all.

Hard not to like this signing, he didn't get many sacks last year but he had plenty of pressures and this defense will take it what it can get in that area. And if you want a nice flashback of AZ offensive line ineptitude, I remember both of these plays vividly and was able to find video of them.

Dwight absolutely torched Gandy with his spin move and set him up to get absolutely abused by a bull rush later in the game.

Three things:

1. I read earlier that Okafor is 2-4 weeks on a strained calf

2. That contract is incredible. Unless Keim somehow goes Mr Hyde on us at some point, that guy needs to be our GM until he decides to retire.

3. Freeney only really needs to be 75% of his old self to generate pressures and sacks with the way our secondary is playing - and if he is playing well enough too command double teams at least a several times a game, that opens up a ton of option for exotic blitzes from the CBs/Safeties/ILB positions. Deone and HB could be huge benefactors.

Absofreakinglutely!!!

He's gonna supply more pressure consistently than anyone on this roster including Alex. Plus his presence should make the team pass rush better.

If he's getting QB pressures he's doing his job! Only issue I've had with him is he does not cover for run support...he's like too many DE's...they are thinking sacks sacks sacks and don't stop the run and leave the LB's on an island.
Hope BA and the team can coach him up.

Great signing. Not sure if he still has any skills, but even just his kill-the-QB mentality will provide benefits from a mindset standpoint.

Was he still with the Colts when Arians was? I assume so, he played the last 2 years with the Chargers, not great numbers but hoping he has something left.

He's 35 but sometimes getting on a good team can revitalize an older player.

You know what's cool? These FA WANT to come here and prove themselves. For a penny on the dollar.

Wow, times have changed from overpaying a guy to come here to ride into the sunset.
