yeah if he is getting double/tripled and we still cant get to the QB it speaks far mroe about everyone else than it does about him.

I saw that too. It's a legitimate question to what other linemen were doing when Freeze had 3 guys blocking him.

I actually expected him to recover John Brown's fumble. He had no business being on the sidelines that play. :mulli:

Really? The guy had no training camp and missed the first 5 weeks of the season. What were you expecting from him?

I wasn't expecting him to light it up on his first game.
I saw one replay where he was actually triple teamed. It's the other guys that needed to step up in that situation.

I'm pretty sure that's still more than Woodley has done in 6 games combined.

Were expecting pro bowl performance after 4 days with the team?

You must be registered for see images attach

I know I expected at least 2 sacks, a forced fumble and about a half dozen QB hurries in his 20 snaps.

:sarcasm:

If those are his numbers in 3 more games then I will be concerned. As of now he had barely practiced and still was getting double teamed..so yeah he had an impact.

I saw that too. It's a legitimate question to what other linemen were doing when Freeze had 3 guys blocking him.

All of this!!!!

Freeney is a sure hall of famer and he's a veteran who can provide leadership to the young guys on this team. I'd cut him a little slack. After all he wouldn't be here if it weren't for the injuries.

I'm pretty sure that's still more than Woodley has done in 6 games combined.

Woodley has 7 tackles and a sack, and has been playing very well for his role. The amount of heat he is getting is kinda ridiculous.

If people are upset because they expected 20 sacks out of the guy, then I am not sure what to say about that. Realistic expectations.

Its like the Browns getting Rob Housler and thinking he is going to DO something.

Woodley is a vet, who can play his role, and he does that well for this team.

Freeney is an old man in NFL years that was playing golf week 1. If people think he is getting 15 sacks this year they are kidding themselves.

When Okafor went down our best pass rush went down, this team is going to struggle waiting for him to get back.

From watching TV to the pro football field and actually played. Crazy, but are many folks expecting to much from this 36 year old?

honestly i dont think anyone expected 20 sacks but just over one tackle a game and 1/6 of a sack per game are very poor numbers. Sam Acho did better.

Meh, not better by much. Woodley can at least set the edge, unlike Acho.

Lamar Woodley came in to replace Matt Shaughnessy, who unfortunately lost a step to many after his injury. Woodley has be comparable, IMO. Furthermore, Woodley has been hurt, and playing through the injury.

If we are looking for sacks, we would expect to see them from Okafor, Golden, and Freeney.

As for all around play? Okafor has been the only player even close to being a quality all-around OLBer. As we know they are hard to find.

I like Okafor a lot but IMO he should be in woodleys spot with a speed rusher in Okafors spot. Maybe next year.

Lol! I don't expect 2 sacks a game, but 1 tackle at least....and at least 1 pressure in 20 plays isn't too much to ask.
You guys are funny!!! What did you expect...20 sacks....and you say I was exaggerating.
A player playing 20 plays should have some kind of impact. He was as useless as the grass was statistically.

7 tackles and 1 sack in 6 games? Are you serious?

You know that's actually poor right?

Thanks for actually proving me right.

Quite pathetic really. But, whatever. I guess we just suck at OLB.

And I could care less if Woodley is a vet, he's washed up. Evident by numbers and eye-test.

I know Riddick missed most of TC, but I would still give him some PT over Woodley. I bet Riddick would at least provide some sort of consistent pressure.

he was a 5th round pick, right? Even though he may be faster, I'd be stunned if a 5th round rookie provided any kind of "consistent pressure".

that said, Woodley sucks.

Correct. I probably overreacted, but I just do not want Woodley on the field for the rest of the year.

we're pretty screwed at the position this year. I really hope Keim moves heaven and earth to get some TRUE speed/talent off the edge next off-season. That's the biggest knock I have on this FO and truth be told, one of the only knocks. Gotta find SOMEONE who can rush the passer, someway, somehow. They've had three years to try and find a young stud to do that. The Abraham band-aid was GREAT, but hoping for lightning in a bottle twice with Woodley seemed a little silly to me.

Totally agree. I just cant help but track the career of Bud Dupree who has 3 sacks already and looks like he will be a stud.

Thanks alot Pittsburgh. :bang:

yeah... if there's a guy this team really likes, they have to be proactive at this point and make a move to get him in the draft. can't wait anymore for a guy to fall to us in the draft. Dupree would have made a pretty big difference on this team.

Not bad and still getting in shape.

Mike Jurecki ‏@mikejurecki
Freeney one sack, one TFL, and two QB hits vs. Ravens.
