Looks like the Cowboys may kick the tires to replace Gregory. Not going to lie, if this happens, I am going to look forward to BRB's new avatar.
Do we have cap space? I thought the signing of Butler left us at under $1M if that.Would really like to know why Steve Keim hasn't signed Freeney. He has a young DC whose best chance to succeed is to have a good pass rush---perhaps even with a 4 man rush for the first time in eons. Freeney opposite of Jones in a 4 man rush would be kick-ass. Now---I like Markus Golden---but beyond that all the options are question marks.

Unless the Cowboys have changed their mind in the last day or so, it doesn't look like they are interested in Freeney. Can't imagine why they wouldn't be, other than if teams have been told that Freeney is going to hold out for $3-4M.
Again, why hasn't the Cards signed Freeney yet.....because he doesn't want to go through training camp and preseason. They have a hand shake offer on and will wait to sign him after preseason.

Probably not going to happen now with all the other moves the Cards have made on the defense end

Hmmmm....maybe at this point it is about the roster spot? and doing what is best for the team in the long run?Again, why hasn't the Cards signed Freeney yet.....because he doesn't want to go through training camp and preseason. give the spot to an old guy on his last season,...or give it to an up and coming young guy who should help the team over the next 3-4 years....
Yup. Look what Freeney did last year playing what, half a season w/o camp?Freeney said he wants to be part of camp, I wouldnt be surprised if he is signed prior to the third preseason game.
If not, they either don't want him or are waiting until after week 1 so the contract is not guaranteed.
doesn't have to be about an olb,....when looking forward to the final 53...could be about an extra o-lineman or DT...or CBSure, but the only two OLB/DE pass rushers who fit the 3-4 years concept are Markus Golden (starter are core player), Shaq Riddick and Zach Wagenmann (on PUP---continued foot injury). Tristan Okpalauga is on a one year deal. Alex Okafor is in his contract year. Kareem Martin has one more year after this one on his contract.
Wonder what the Cardinals knew or were thinking. However, maybe this means Carolina won't go 15-1 again.
Means the team has a ton of confidence in Golden and/or Okafor
If Keim felt we had a profound issue at OLB, he would've made Freeney a priority.or the falcons offered a lot more than a minimum + incentive salary

But if I told you at the beginning of the year that we'd have Chandler Jones instead of Freeney, 95% of you would sign up immediately
im guessing he drew a line in the sand and Freeney wanted more. We will see what his contract in Atlanta looks like.If Keim felt we had a profound issue at OLB, he would've made Freeney a priority.
