I am not sure what the better one to mess up would be. I do know that my son snapped his femur last year and was lucky enough to be treated by the best pediatric orthopedist in the world. The Doc said that his age (3 at the time) was his saving grace. Had it been me he said, I would not have been walking again for 18 months. Kids are amazing though, and my little warrior was running again in a month.

Either which way was it's not good for EJ. Think Joe Theisman or former Clippers' point guard Sean(I think that was his first name) Livingston.

He suffered a fractured femur according to AzCentral. Hope the kid can come bad & wish him a speedy recovery.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if Henderson's career isn't already over, he definitely will not play for a minimum of 2-3 years. They will have to put rods in there and he likely wont walk for 12-18 months.

It depends entirely on how many complicating factors there are. Not all breaks are the same. Charlie Davies had a complete fracture of the femur in his car accident, and they're saying 6-12 months for him.

They are saying 6-12 months for the bone to heal, but then extensive rehab after. "Extensive rehab" normally means about 6-12 months. When you break a femur, you almost always tear the hell out of your muscle. Even if by some strange feet you didn't the muscle will atrophy from lack of use. Don't expect to see him practicing or playing for 2 years, if ever. The people that think there is a chance he plays in the cup are just misinformed or delusional.

It's great that we have one of Davies's attending physicians here on the board.

It was sickening to watch on the replay and I hope to never see it again. Prayers go out to him, his family and his doctors that they make the best decisions possible on how to help him.

Awful.

he'll be able to walk and should recover fully - if he does get to play again maybe he'll think before rolling people knees and all of this fun off the field stuff

nasty to be sure, but i'm very indifferent

this vikings team has a whole bucket full of this stuff due to them - very unlikeable team full of bad juju

Why didn't an air cast get applied on the field???

I wondered that all night. Some dude just kept his leg stable as they drove back.

I was up in the nosebleeds so it was hard to tell what happened. No replays in the stadium. Too many people around him to see what was being worked on.

I swear the Vikings were faking injuries to stop the clock. Just two plays before that, I think one of their guys laid on the field for a while and when the ref's didn't stop the clock, he hopped up and went back to the huddle. I thought for sure they were pulling this again.

Then the cart came out. Then it went off the field.

Then the "uh-oh" cart came out. At this point, I thought he broke his neck.

Finally someone said it was "just" a leg injury. I was relieved until I went home and watched the replay. And while I agree this is a blessing compared to a neck injury, it isn't by much. Potentially career-ending.

My heart goes out to him. I've seen this exact injury when I played in high school. My teammate never played another down again. I hope he gets great care and is able to come back from this.

I think it had to do it was too painful to put it on or it was such a bad break they couldn't apply it. The way the players and his brother were reacting didn't make it look good.

I came on and talked to you guys/gals last year before the Vikes/Cards game. 99% of you are great, class act people. There is always one bad apple and you Osprey are the most ignorant POS I have ever had the displeasure. You must be a seahawk fan because even your wussy QB couldn't let the FACT go that EJ was PUSHED into his knee. And what was that, 5 - 6 YEARS ago??? As far as off the field, EJ was in trouble one time...for defending his brother when some thugs tried jumping him. Again YEARS ago. Get your facts straight you piece of crap!

As for the rest of you, good game. The Cards just plain outplayed us and deserved the win. I hope this is a wake up call for the Vikes. We'll see you in the playoffs more than likely and the outcome will hopefully be different! ;)

Thats funny but team doctors both on the US & Sochaux both anticipate him returning by the early summer. He will be able to start jogging by February.

Those silly delusional doctors.

Edit: I am not saying he'll be game fit by the World Cup just that he can resume training by the summer.

Well, he IS a Seahawk fan, but in spite of that he IS also a class act. He's also an ASFNer, so he'll be stood up for here by most all.

I think your post was really uncalled for.
