If Warner retires...which I hope he Doesn't...But if he does...McNabb here would be awesome...and I think he would flourish under our system and recievers....He has mobility and throws a good deep ball.

If McNabb were 27, Id say yes. But we would benefit greater with someone who can stay on the team long term and does not cost an arm and a leg

Mcnabb blows. He is a choker and he is old and really taken a beating over the years.

I would rather keep Matty under center and see what we have. YEP I said it!

I don't even think you can classify ESPN's Rumor Mills as "rumors." They're pure speculation with no sources from the poster.

Good deep ball would not do much in our system. You need receivers who can get separation for that to work.

how is he a choker to you people? he took the Eagles to so many NFC Title games, and a superbowl with for the most part average receivers (minus the TO year). Are we so spoiled with TWO years of success that we call someone who has had a career of success a CHOKER?

Results in the SB? Playoffs this year? NFC championship game last year? etc.. etc.. He is a good QB but he isn't going to bring home the prize. He is not GREAT by any means. He is old and warn down to boot. Bringing him in wouldnt do anything about finding or helping find a QBOF for this team.

Dont let the orange glasses get in the way of good judgment.

I think I'd prefer Matt to get a job and then to bring in someone to compete like Bulger or Leftwich.

Right after they lost to Dallas the Eagles came out and said there was no truth to the rumors they were going to trade McNabb.

McNabb is good for one thing. Losing playoff games. Not exactly smartest QB either. Didn't even know game could end in a tie?

results in the SUPERBOWL. lol. so with the playoffs this year does that make Tom Brady a bad qb? Carson Palmer a TERRIBLE qb? come on. McNabb is one of the best qb's in the league, a much better option for us than Leinart. Ship Leinart out of town, use that garbages money on McNabb, and draft a qb to develop behind McNabb.

Exactly.

I said it before and I'll say it again ... no, no, no to McNabb, please and thank you.

The only reason these rumors are surfacing is because he has a place here in the Valley. (He does, right?)

You and I aren't agreeing on much, Shane. Oh well, that what makes the board go, I guess.

The man has led his team to 5 NFC championship games. He's 33, and has been throwing to guys like Hank Basket most of his career. He could easily play 4 or 5 more years - that would make him Kurt's age. That's longterm in today's world. Philly fans don't appreciate him for the same reason most fans can't handle stuff - everybody thinks if you don't win a superbowl, you suck. There are 32 teams in the league. 4 teams make the Championship Game per year. On average you should make a championship game 1 out of 8 years, he's made 5 in 11 years - ALMOST EVERY OTHER YEAR. Are you kidding me, he's a choker?

If Kurt retires, and we can get him, do it.

I would rather they keep McNabb and give us Kolb....but since that is not going to happen, then it's time for Matt to step up and sink or swim.

And draft the best mid-round (3-4) QB still on the board.

If and possibly when Warner retires Whiz will be working the whole offseason with the CARDINALS next starting QB.Matt Leinart should do very well especially if no one offers enough for Q in draft trades and he has a loaded reciever quiver to go along with a very talented and up and coming running game.Leave Levi where he is to cover Matts backside.

Its not Matts job to worry about rebuilding the defense.Just put up the points to win.If after all this time with Kurt he did'nt learn anything that would be more than sad.He looked okay in New Orleans to say the least.Lets go Matt.Heck NO! To Bulger or McNabb or anyone else. We've paid for Matt already.Whiz will adjust a few things and just say its go time and start building Matts confidence to a much higher level with no one behind him but a lesser backup that comes cheap,or a late round qb pick to develop.

I have to agree. McNabb would come to us with a HUGE chip on his shoulder. Kind of like the huge chip that Warner came here with when the Rams & Giants spit in his face. Since McNabb already lives & trains here, the adjustment period would be minimal. The climate in AZ & playing under perfect conditions would add an extra year or two to his career. Look what AP & a dome environment did for Favre. I'm fine with the Cardinals going with Leinart, but it's lunacy to think that McNabb couldn't win here. Let's not forget that what this franchise needs is a nice stretch (4-5 consecutive years) of getting to the playoffs. In order to completely leave our ugly past behind us, we need to be a perennial winner. McNabb would help us get there.

I won't even give the rumor enough credence to discuss the pro and cons of McNabb and his coming to the Cardinals. It's just not going to happen, period.

Yes, and yes.

The source of the rumor:
A reporter, standing nearby while McNabb and a teammate were emptying their lockers following the end of the Eagles season, overheard the following conversation.

Teammate: "So Donovan, what are you going to do now that the season is over?"

McNabb: "I am going to Arizona."

Reporter>  :hacker:

All this hating on McNabb is insane!

The dude is a gamer, year in and year out. Plug him into our offense and he is automatically surrounded by the best cast of players he has ever been around. Don't forget, this guy beat us in the late 90's on a broken leg in the 2nd half. The guy has heart to spare.

I would take him over Matt any day of the week and twice on Sundays....

WINNER WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER!
This system needs abn accurate passer. Pennington , if healthy would be a better fit.
