And if you think we're going to routinely score more than 124 points then you're the one who's crazy. No stops, no rings. We still need to learn how to defend.

Exactly!!! We need a wing defender! Go for Pietrus!

Diaw is still very needed as the main backup PF. Shaq + Diaw, or Amare + Diaw r both very good combination.

BTW, I love the bounce pass from Shaq to Diaw for a layup!

Good game. I saw a lot of good things happening. A few things just didn't go our way, but I am definitely excited and optimistic about this team.

However, we got what we wanted with Shaq, rebounding advantage and interior defense, but still lost...

Come on, Shaq wasn't really the problem. The problem was our perimeter defense and our team isn't really gelling on the court yet. But hey, people are jumping ship left and right it appears, so I hope you can swim. :)

Somebody else mentioned it earlier but Nash just doesn't look right. He's making a lot of mental mistakes which is usually the first sign of fatigue. Would love to see a bit more Strawberry to further reduce Nash's minutes for the next couple weeks to keep him fresh.

Outside of that awful runner he took at the end of the game, I thought he played fine. He was actually our best player in the first half. I think we're so used to him being so great, when he makes one mistake, it's magnified.

Nash only played 32 minutes tonight, right?

Nash will also make more mistakes while integrating new pieces into the offense. Remember 05-06, when at the beginning Nash looked bad with all the new players? Give the team some time to gel, and amazing things can/will happen.

That's exactly my point. We have other issues which everyone is overlooking and proclaiming us trophy winners with Shaq. Both our bench and our perimeter defense are horrible.

I'm not jumping ship... Let's see next few games where this team goes. But we need to add at least another piece before trade deadline. Artest would do wonders for perimeter defense.

Boy, wouldn't Rondo look good as Nash's backup... oops, we sold him to Boston...

There's some validity to that but something still doesn't look right, and it's happened in multiple games.

That was certainly a factor today but again, this has happened over a few games now.

Maybe it's nothing but I'd still like to keep him under 30 mins leading up to the stretch run and the playoffs. Hopefully the addition of a competent 13th wing player (Ross, Miller, etc) can help ease the burden a bit as well. Having Shaq means we don't necessarily have to rely on Nash to create ALL the time as well so that should help.

Agreed. I've never really paid a whole lot of attention to Shaq's passing skills but he had a couple nifty little passes that were very effective.

Shaq is a fan-effing-tastic passer.

Something I don't think he ever got credit for...really great passer.

I was trying to put my thoughts into words but you did it for me Chap.
Those that have chimed in with all the negativity act as though Shaq has been here playing with the SUNS for weeks.
BAD NEWS: We haven't replaced Marion's man on perimeter defense yet.
GOOD NEWS: We have a frontline presence on both ends that'll work itself out & find rythmn with repetition.
I was extremely encouraged by what i saw tonight.

Who is seriously proclaiming us trophy winners? Nobody has said we'll win the championship outright--certainly not seriously.

That's pretty much what everyone is saying.

The Suns played pretty good D on Kobe save for a couple of dunks he got. Every shot he hit he had a guy draped all over him. It just so happened that he wasn't missing and he shot way over his average tonight. I believe he shot 16/25. If he falls back closer to his average, the Suns stay home on Vujacic, and clean up some of the lapses that led to easy dunks we'll be fine.

The Lakers obviously wanted this very badly. Shooting 56% and making all kinds of plays, I bet they just played one of their best game of this season. Give them credit for that.
