Me too. In fact I've often thought, how was this guy a top recruit? He's never shown me anything that makes me think he's a starting NFL QB.

I'm down to 3 QB's that I'd be ok with the Cards drafting, Bridgewater, Hundley, or Carr. I haven't formed an opinion on Mariota yet.

Even if Carr sucks we get to look at his sister in law every Sunday:D

Both tackle spots need to be heavily upgraded if Mettenberger is our guy. Only athletic QB's that can escape the pocket have worked in BA's system.

I was thinking that only QBs who can take a beating can survive in his system. i.e. Roethlisberger.

Mettenberger?!?! I've watched a TON of LSU games over the last few years and I have not remotely felt like I was watching an NFL prospect.

This is his 1st year under Cameron. Major difference. LSU has never been a QB factory.

So weird that the Cardinals are never in a position to say:

Okay, here is a QB who doesn't fit "our system" how can we change our system to fit the QB.

Doesn't it seem that an NFL coach should be able to do that?

No. That is lunacy. ;) Seriously, why draft a player that does not fit the system? The Cards hired Arians and he came with his system. Live with it.

the only time a QB doesnt fit your system is when he sucks as a pocket passer

I actually made it a point to watch LSU games this year and I feel the same way...he's not that good

Zach's #s so far;

135 for 207 - 65%
2,164 yds
10.5 yds/attempt
16 TDs
5 Ints
QBR = 173.7

Not too shabby.

No I get that his numbers look good which is why I wanted to see him play. I was just disappointed that when I watched him he didn't wow me with his athleticism or arm...but then again I'm no professional scout either. Right now my untrained eye test puts Mariota, Winston, and Johnny Douchebag as the best QB's in CFB right now

Watching Sean Mannion of Oregon St vs a pretty solid Stanford d

Not sure he's a first round guy- but he is intriguing.

Riley's offense is kind of fun to watch as well.

Love Mannion, but he's about as immobile as immobile can get. Needs a better than average line to block in front of him in order to succeed in the league. At the moment, the cardinals do not offer such an asset.

Looking around the NFL, there 's likely a number of teams looking at QBs in 2014s draft. If Ponder and Gabbert can go high, I wonder how things will shake out. There's a lot of QBs having their names thrown about at the moment.
