Marcus Mariota

Has not thrown an INT yet and is only game that was not amazing was poor because of his completion percentage being 44% due to like 8 drops from the crazy storm that blew through here that night.

Boyd by miles IMO

his resume is longer and speaks louder than about any other QB in the draft, besides maybe Manziel.

But hes a better pocket QB and is a far, far better character guy/ leader

I like Boyd as well. Apparently Kelly covets Mariota and I wouldn't be surprised if Philly makes a move to get him...unless Foles cements himself as their starter

It looks like Philly could go on a run and take the division. If that is the case, they will have to mortgage the future to move up that high to take him.

I just watched some film of him. He has a cannon of an arm. Seriously he has an insanely accurate arm when it comes to deep balls. He also just has great accuracy in general. He also looks very calm in the pocket and has a pretty good sense of pressure. But here are some flaws I see in his game:

-He is a one read qb. He rarely scans the field and makes decisions. It's not his fault because the offense that is run at Clemson is dink and dunk with some deep balls in between. I'm not saying he isn't capable of reading a defense but he doesn't demonstrate it in college.

-Rarely does he make "NFL" throws. Again this goes with the offensive system at Clemson. From what I watched I'd say 70% of the throws he makes are on flat routes, screens and curl routes (all of which were along the sides of the field). I don't think he throws more than 5 passes a game over the middle. Once again this isn't his fault but there should be some concern over how capable he is making passes over the middle of the field.

With that being said, I do like him though and think he has a lot of potential.

Mariota and Hundley in round 1. Mettenberger later on and the kid from Cornell. I need to see more clips of Sean Mannion from Oregon St, but he has had a ridiculous year and really good size. Also, Riley is a good coach.

Mariota by a mile for me, it may take a year or two to develop but his ceiling is a lot higher than the rest and his floor is on par with the other top QBs.

Forgot to mention also that Tajh is excellent throwing on the run especially since that's all they do at Clemson lol.

But seriously it's nice to know he can make the throws when he is running for his life behind the Cardinals O-line :D

I'm not saying this should rule out Mariota, but how have the previous Oregon quarterbacks fared in the NFL? I haven't even watched him yet this year, but I love Brett Hundley just from watching him a bunch last season.

Hundley. He's also a local kid. Chandler High. I don't think he'll come out however.

Mariota wouldn't be bad either.

Boyd's in 3rd for me.

Manziel should be long gone so not mentioning him.

Why do you say that Hundley won't come out? The way I look at it is if he is going to be drafted in the 1st round, why would he risk lowering his stock from playing another year?

Also when you say Manziel being long gone do you mean that he will be drafted before the Cards? Because I would be surprised if he was even taken in the first round.

Am I the only one who would not draft Manziel in the first round? I think it's his legs that make him great and if he's using his legs very often in the NFL he's going to be injured early and often. Not to mention I think is a total douche bag.

I highly doubt he is going to be drafted in the first round. A lot of teams already have him off of their board because of his character issues. And also since this is a really good qb class it's less likely that a team will reach for him.

Depends on how far UCLA gets this year. I think he wants to be in a Rose Bowl.

Manziel not in the 1st!!!! Is your last name Graves?! :trout:

We need a quarterback who can take over a game, put the team on his back and win games. That's a true franchise quarterback that everyone wants. I just don't see that with Tajh Boyd, though obviously could be wrong. Ranking the quarterbacks at this point, for me it would go like this:

Teddy Bridgewater - Very savvy with his pocket awareness, accurate, makes good reads. He is good at everything.

Marcus Mariota - This guy is going to be very good. The thing that impresses me most is his ability to see the right moments to take off running or when to stand tall and throw it. He is also good at getting rid of the ball when needed or dumping it off at the last second. A very difficult quarterback for the defense to get to.

Brett Hundley - Has all the tools and is putting it all together this year.

Aaron Murray - Smaller, but is very accurate and goes through his reads well. Seems to win the presnap game. I believe it was Tony Dungy who said he would take him with the first pick. Maybe not that high, but he should be available when we pick.

Zach Mettenberger - Really has stepped up his game with going through reads, making good throws while under pressure.
