Ok, I will calm down, the current roster is what it is. We got 86 players on the roster.

We have some room, and money to make a few more moves, but I doubt any will be headline makers.

Still, IMO, we need to get:

NT - Depth/Backup. *** At this point looks to me that what we have is better then what is left

1 - Ma'ake Kemoeatu
2 - Ronald Fields
3 - Jamal Williams

WR - I just cannot fathom why they think we don't need a #2. Edit: LOL :D

1 - James Jones: Rumor that we are still interested.
2 - Malcom Floyd: Not going to happen.
3 - Braylon Edwards: In talks with him right now
4 - Derrick Mason: I think would be PERFECT for our current situation

RB - Special teams guy + Limited carry guy (could be a UDFA)

- It is not going to be LeRon McClain :D

- WOW. Help me out people, cause I don't see a 4th RB special teams guy. Larry Croom available ?

- Maybe we keep Powell on the roster ? Alfonso Smith maybe ?

EDIT:[Go with what we got]

OLB - The pass rush is still iffy (to sugar coat it) at this position. I highly doubt anyone is coming in but

**I think it is more important to get a WR #2, and a backup NT at this point.

Roth if he is dirt cheap. I have grown cold on Lawson. After those two I don't see any names that would be better than what we have.

Lack of interest by the NFL in Lawson and Roth is a little odd. Either we as fans have way over valued them or their agents are the least talkative agents on the planet.

Or they are asking for Asomugha money and the market isn't that.

Most likely asking for pash rusher $$$ when that is something they are not. I would take a flyer on guys like Derrick Harvey or Banta-Cain and play them at OLB which is probably where Harvey needs to play.

Positives: Has a developing frame that could add another 20 pounds for a possible move to rush end, with no loss in quickness … Has an athletic, big physique for a linebacker, with good upper body muscle definition, tight waist and hips, good bubble, strong lower body frame and only 10 percent body fat … Has adequate timed speed, but keeps plays in front of him and has a good short-area closing burst … Works well in space, showing fluid change of direction agility … Has the balance and body control to stay on the hips of the tight ends and backs in the short-area passing game … Uses his hands effectively to press and reroute … Chases hard and shows good urgency getting to the ball … Hits with pop on contact and has the strong hands and technique to jar the ball loose from the ball carrier (four fumble recoveries, three forced fumbles in 2006) … Smart, instinctive player who reads schemes well and is alert to play-action and misdirection … Explodes behind his hits and uses his strength in attempts to wrap … Has the body control to break down in the open field and improved his ability to take angles when making plays in space (did not overrun the play as much in 2006 than he did in the past) … Will face up and wrap with intent to punish … Has a good work ethic who puts in extra hours in the weight and film rooms … Has good vision to quickly locate and close on the ball … Makes good body adjustments on the run and is quick to react to misdirection … Plays the run with good stoutness at the point of attack, using his hands and upper body strength to stack and control … Has enough upper body strength to split double teams and clog the inside rush lanes … Holds his ground firmly at the point of attack and is active with his hands in attempts to shed … While he won't hesitate to take on blockers, his instincts lets him make plays when unblocked due to his quick read-and-react ability, compensating for a lack of blazing speed … Won't blow up ball carriers in his tackles, but will secure and drag down … Can throw and jerk blockers, if needed, but prefers to fend off, play off and close in on the ball rather than stay and offer combat … Has the functional burst to close on running plays along the edge and has the range to string plays out and take away the cutback lanes … Will get a little out of control in his pursuit at times, but has the athletic agility to recover … Keeps his pad level down to make plays down the line of scrimmage and move through traffic (makes a lot of east/west plays) … Knows how to pick up his feet to avoid trash … Has the loose hips to get depth in his pass drops, but is better playing in the zone than in man coverage … Understands zone concepts and is alert to switch-offs, but needs to continue working on taking better angles … Very effective on stunts, especially when unblocked and uses his hands effectively to squeeze through the rush lanes … Shows good anticipation and explosiveness on the blitz (can dog inside or off the edge) … Has the speed to flush the quarterback out of the pocket.

Positives: Has a lean, angular frame with decent overall muscle tone, long arms, good bubble, broad shoulders and defined chest … Flashes exceptional quickness for a down lineman, doing a nice job of extending his arms to make reach blocks and seal off edge rushers … Has good initial pop and hand usage … Explosive cut blocker who can get good position on defenders and works hard to sustain blocks … Has loose hips to position and wall off, playing with leverage … Gets out front quickly on traps and pulls, showing easy body movement and the ability to adjust on the move … Stays up and has good foot balance adjusting to linebackers downfield, taking good angles to cut off … Has good hand placement to gain separation and can kick slide fluidly in his pass set … His light feet allow him to slide down the line with ease … Has natural balance, doing a nice job of sinking his hips, sliding out and regrouping efficiently … Does a solid job in attempts to sink, mirror, sustain and adjust when protecting the pocket's blind side … Quick to locate zone coverage when working into the second level and has the foot speed to go long distances when leading on pulls … Knows how to use his long arms to seal and it is very rare to see him overextend because of this … Strong fist fighter who plays until the whistle.

Gregg signed with someone else, can't recall at this moment. My mind kicked in and I think it was the Chiefs.

So yes something has to be done at the NT position.

TE King is not listed

Jeff King is going to be a difference maker in the running game. Regardless of what list he is on or not on.

Colledge will be a good OG for us.

Nick Eason will be no better or worse than Alan Branch.

The rest............................

We are short one experienced D-end. (Iwebema?

I'd add Watson to the potential backup NT. (Gregg signed with KC)

Their are other guards available (Mathis) - see: ESPN Draft Tracker

I expect at this point we will add Todd Heap at TE., and is perhaps that is fitting into the W/O equation.

Can someone tell me what Manny Lawson has done to command consideration? Not dogging him, I just have not heard him doing anything of note. I don't remember him doing much against us last year either. It is very possible that I have blocked it out in the ass whooping we received, but I just don't see what the deal is.

agree on most

I think Branch is better a lot better we just played him out of position until last year, Him and Robinson both had more range at that size than any nose tackles that i remember? But DD has Branches spot secured, DD still plays small for his size to me,

I remember Eason barely, and was impressed by Pittsburgs depth they hadn't even used yet.

we have versatility at TE but damn we keep 6 again? Is fine if we run, but we don't and don't plan too, against my will.

I'll wait and see on Colledge, Deuce was much better but maybe the fits right? we are a whole different animal?

Did anyone pick up Reggie Wells yet? Solid Oline depth, if he's out there I'd definitely bring him back.

Final need for the Cardinals:

Practice time and plenty of it. A bunch of new and young players. And especially reps for our new QB who can't even practice until a week before the first pre season game.

FO does not agree

And hey, when have Rod Graves or this coaching staff ever been wrong, especially when evaluating OL talent?

I think he makes a pretty reasonable point that Levi Brown/Brandon Keith are as shaky a tackle tandem as you'll find in this league. The only thing impressive about Brown is his salary and Keith is essentially a starter by default.

Yep, pretty much how I am taking it.

But, if there is one thing I will stress, is the Jeff King is a HUGE upgrade at TE for us. Not the best receiver but by far and away the best blocker we have had in here in years.

we know what the target is... doesn't mean they're shooting at the right one... or that there should just be one of them.

our OT are beyond suspect... and who's behind them? I can't even think of the names.

remember James Hodgins completely revamping our running game when we signed him in 2003? me neither. that's my feeling on Jeff King. his upgrade is ultimately meaningless if the 5 guys on the line are still mediocre to awful.

Given the past few days, I have a hard time imaging anything they could do to please your exacting wants and needs.

For those of you still hoping for a tackle despite what the Cards may be looking for Gaither is still on the market. Reports of his signing were premature and his agent said there was no deal yesterday and there will never be a deal, Raiders signed Kalif Barnes instead.
