It's a dry heat.
Another night of 'tinkering' with the line-up. When will this clown get it? Oh yeah, never! Fire Melvin now!!!!
Yup, on August 8th, our former cleanup hitter, who seems to have found a home batting 3rd, was now batting second.Another night of 'tinkering' with the line-up. When will this clown get it? Oh yeah, never! Fire Melvin now!!!!
Do you realize that a below .500 record managing Seattle; and an even .500 record managing Arizona is Bob Melvin's managerial legacy right through last night?I didn't realize 90-72 and an appearance in the NLCS was a .500 season? :-/
Nailed it.Do you realize that a below .500 record managing Seattle; and an even .500 record managing Arizona is Bob Melvin's managerial legacy right through last night?
His managerial record with the Mariners was 156-168 -- .481 .
His current managerial Diamondbacks record is 301-300 -- one game over .500 . Add in post-season 3-4 -- .429 and it's right at .500.
That's a managerial record of 460-472 -- .494 .
It's not only below .500 . It's consistent wherever he goes. Consistently mediocre.
Not to mention how he damaged Scherzer's shoulder moving him from the starting rotation to on-call long relief, despite his 3rd best starters ERA on the team at the time.
And how he's stunted the starts of Upton, Young and Drew by moving them up and down the batting order without rhyme or reason? Or Carlos Quentin?
Or how the Diamondbacks don't know how to take pitches, hit-and-run, steal bases, pick their spots swinging for the long ball, etc.?
Or his double-negative Press conferences, nervously picking at his face, refusing to take a firm stand on anything.
With all due respect, Nasser22, realize that.
Has anyone told any of you that your team is in first place?
The funny thing is that people said almost the exact same thing last season. We maybe in first place but what is our record??????????????
Do you really think this team is going anywhere in the playoffs? Their a one a nd done team. Can't hit , bad bullpen and can't win on the road.
I hate these negative threads.
I don't get any sense that the Diamondbacks players want their manager replaced. If there was clubhouse dissent, sure, I'd reluctantly agree that we should bail on his contract and take the man's job. Even though it's been proven, time and again, that replacing the manager only leads to..."Let's fire the new guy!"
How many runs has Qualls given up this month? Now how many runs has Rauch given up this month?
As of Wednesday, August 27th 2008? Qualls. At some point when Rauch actually gets his act back together? Rauch.Who would you rather have pitching the 8th inning?
I'm usually one not to jump the gun and make premature calls, but in this case I'm going to..
fixed!I don't think you are doing either of those things.
I'd bet good money that we could find at least three guys and three women posting here that could a better job than Melvin. Seriously.
Sure fire Melvin that will fix our problems...what a joke. No one was crying for Melvin to be fired when the players actually did their jobs early in the season! Ridiculous if you think firing Melvin is going to fix this team, it must have been him not getting a hit and leaving 17 guys on base yesterday in a one run loss!
