I’ve ( We’ve) been patient for far too long. This team is missing some key components and we are sitting on 20m of cap space.
At some point this team has to show us it’s time to make a move. It shouldnt have to be in March.
The trade deadline is coming up. Go get us a pass rusher. Give up a precious 5th round pick and start filling holes today.
I’ve been a koolaid guy for a hundred years. I’m 71 years old and am running out of time to for this team to be a force. Im tired of being buffaloed into being patient. I’ll still be here.
But when I see a defense “ trying” and then watch a 4 man rush not get within 5 yards of the qb enough is enough.

Do something Monti. Earn my patience.

Understood! I don't think that's unfair, and Gardeck going down gives MO all the justification in the world to make a move.

At 3-4, and with coaches and players battling, I kind like the idea of doing some kind of deal before the trade deadline, especially for a pass-rusher.

It would at least give us an indication they have a plan other than wait until next year.

I'm not sure anyone has seen the recent press conferences. They are laughably bad. They say MHJ is making an impact by being a decoy. A freaking decoy?! You spend the #4 pick on a decoy?! Please send this guy packing.

Petzing, the anti- Arians. No downfield throws no risks, bad team offensively.
Arians would design 4-6 shot plays every game -- he wanted to dictate to the defense

i get the impression that Petzing "runs the system". Based on the defense, the ball goes to where the system says. It takes what the defense gives them.

The problem is that todays NFL defense loves to force the offense to go 12+ plays to score a TD.

And this team just isnt efficient enough for regular 12 play scoring drives.

Unfortunately Kliff was was NOT the problem at ALL... I liked Kliff Kingsbury and hope the guy does well... The problem with the last regime was that Steve Keim was willing to throw ANYONE ! ! ! under the bus to keep his job.. That's why all the stories about Kyler playing video games and Kliff being to much into living a playboy bachelor life came out... Everyone knew where they were coming from. Unfortunately in my humble opinion Keim had NO loyalty except for himself and Kingsbury got linked to him.. Does that excuse Kyler Murray ( Absolutely Not ) regardless of my screen name, I am in NO way a Homer! ! !.. However, to be honest, No matter what QB is here, I did expect Petzing's offense to look better. Especially after all the hype, and how any wide receiver coach could be okay with MHJ not catching the ball with his hands and instead using his body is just simply baffling SMH..

We have like 80% success guessing plays in the gameday threads and we aren't studying film all week like the opponent. Our playcalling sucks
Even better - I'm having Jake Plummer flashbacks. There were times I'd watch the Trestman offense line up and I'd say to my self "They have no chance of converting here" and the defense just looked absolutely impenetrable. Of course Jake would be 10 for 25 for 180 yards and 2 picks and we'd lose to an awful team like the late 90s Giants.

I haven't felt that feeling again until this year. When the offense lines up, I get the sense that the other team's defense is just impenetrable, and I hate that feeling.

One last comment... The Cardinals released through Gambo stating that Kyler Murray goes through his progressions to quickly without letting routes develop. My simple question to the Cardinals coaching staff would simply be. How long do you expect your QB to hold on to the ball to see if a route develops before moving on to the next read... Would be nice if they included an amount of time they expect their QB to wait on routes. As mentioned in the Cards pregame before the Chargers win... Herbert waits on average 2 to 2.5 seconds without waiting , to throw the ball SMH...

I will give our guys credit for pressuring him and getting a few sacks on occasion--they played above their level because, frankly, they stink--but yeah, Herbert had all day most of the game.

I think he has become too interception risk averse. Watch 2019-2021 film of him -- he was letting stuff rip all the time.

Today I see too many throws that lack conviction. You watch film and on many drops you can see him recognize where the ball needs to go, set up to throw and then turn it down at the last second -- to a target that is "mostly" open, rather than "open".

Monday Herbert completed a lot of passes to guys in tight coverage -- Kyler doesnt attempt many of those throws anymore

Great observation. Could he be being coached that way? I know the Stillers are risk averse and almost never let their QBs throw over the middle, for instance.

I’d wager he’s being coached that way as well as this scheme dictates it. Can’t argue that the scheme is as conservative of a scheme that we have seen in the NFL the last few years (aside from the Browns)…

Jalen Hurts sucks but they have a great offensive scheme suited for him and he has AJ , Devontae Godard and Sequan… all better than what we have at those positions. (Yes Godard is better than McBride today.. but McBride has a higher future ceiling).. oh an 100x better OLine.
I mean on the Tush Push only.

You’re trashing your credibility nearly daily by your posts. Goedert is a top 10 TE and has consistency on his side over McBride. McBride hasn’t shown the consistency Goedert has, thus I can’t rank him there yet personally. Do I think McBridee will be better? Absolutely. But I can’t say that out of the what? Maybe 8-10 elite games he has had in his ENTIRE career lol! **** out of here w your credibility marks, you get debunked on your post consistently just to move on to post some other irrational know it all repost that is debunked.
Maybe he meant now? I would certainly take McBride over Goedert if I had my choice today.

At some point the finger has to start point in a different direction.
Kyler is our qb and will be for the foreseeable future. He’s average at best but his legs raise him a little above that.
Good defenses will shut us down with smart play. You simply can’t let Kyler get outside. It’s a safer bet to make him throw.

no question coaches emphasize this, but i also think Kyler got risk averse late in Kliffs run as well

Both JG & DP have continuously stated in their pressers that Kyler has “operated the offense” extremely well. So, yes, it seems obvious that Kyler is throwing the ball where they want the ball thrown in this offense. Does this make me happy? Definitely not. Petzing keeps saying that there will be more opportunities as the reps mount. Time will tell if that’s the case, but until then, I'm bored.

It goes without saying that these RESULTS are not what they want. But, they’ve also said like 1000 times, that they are process driven & not results driven. And they believe in the current process. Granted, eventually that process needs to result in production, but they don’t seem to be concerned in the least JUST YET. Something has to give here soon.

Apropos the subject of this thread, I think Warner's analysis almost completely exonerates Petzing. Much as in Kingsbury's offense, plays are well designed and guys are getting open.

Warner points out some tweaks that could improve the play design or execution, the responsibility for which falls on coaching.

A big flaw seems to be that Murray is setting to throw before routes have developed enough to let him see who's about to come open. Coaching him to slow down his backpedal or add a step seems as though it would be a lot more effective than shortening the routes.

I felt as though Kingsbury kept on simplifying the offense and limiting the playbook to plays that Murray was able to execute properly, resulting in playcalling that was too predictable and horizontal. Seems as though the same might be happening with Petzing. Not much pew-pew is going on.

Both play designers / callers were effective for a while, then went downhill. Murray is the common denominator.
