The travel team jamboree, hosted by Hoop Exchange and Source Hoops, featured some of the top prospects in the nation at The Big House in Tavares, Florida. Attending the highly coveted, early-AAU-season tournament were three Florida State basketball targets playing for various teams.
Collin Paul, a 6-foot-7 four-star forward out of the class of 2026 took the floor with SOH Elite during the weekend. While he grabbed boards and pushed the ball coast-to-coast, showing off the versatility of his game, he also took a moment to talk about his recent offer from the Seminoles.
“It feels good to know both the old coaching staff wanted me and the new coaching staff wants me," Paul said. "It's a blessing that both coaches wanted me in their program and supported me, called me every day, and wanted to have a good relationship with me.”
Joining Paul on SOH Elite is Jasen Lopez, a 5-foot-11 football and basketball standout with offers from Florida State in both sports. While the guard spent much of the weekend showing off his skills as a floor general, he also talked about the prospect of playing both sports in Tallahassee.
“It’s great, honestly,” Lopez said. “I already had the offer in football, so being able to get the offer in basketball helps their school.”
Rounding out the crop of FSU targets in the building was 6-foot-7 wing prospect Herly Brutus. The Central Florida native is a growing name in the class of 2026 and holds offers from several colleges across the state, including USF and Jacksonville.
“It was great meeting, honestly, having coach Michael fly by my side and believing in me. And the coaching staff, of course, and Coach Zach (Reynolds) being right there and helping me out,” Brutus said. “It felt great to get my first big offer, and I'm really, honestly, ready for more. I'm hungry.”
Neither has heard directly from newly hired Florida State head basketball coach Luke Loucks, whose hiring was made official on March 9.
FSU has extended 14 offers to class of 2026 prospects throughout the state of Florida between Hamilton’s final season and the beginning of Loucks' regime.
