How fitting is this for the team who loved comeback wins so much this past year?

Hopefully he and Peyton are the best of friends from their time in Indy.

Something tells me, that McNulty will be the WR coach, and Reich will be the QB coach at practice.

But for paycheck reasons they will have the titles they were given at the beginning of the year. If that is the case ? That is a slick move by our usually dry and uninnovative front office.

Interesting.....

Reich, a long-time reserve quarterback in the NFL best known for orchestrating the Buffalo Bills’ historic playoff comeback win (down 35-6 to win 41-38) over Houston in 1993, was the wide receivers coach for the Indianapolis Colts in 2011. He spent 2009 and 2010 as the Colts’ quarterbacks coach.

From Sando...
Hiring Reich only strengthens perceptions the Cardinals will pursue Manning if given the chance. Lots of other teams will likely have interest as well. Whatever edge Reich might offer will belong to the Cardinals.

This is a move that tells me the Cardinals are all about trying to get Peyton Manning into the fold. (Take care of the little things, and the big ones can more easily become a fit). This is a great first move for our off-season in my opinion.

I disagree, but if they had multiple candidates in mind, it might have been a tipping point. I read that Polian recommended him as well.

NFL LIVE is talking about this hire ...right now....They think this is a stepping stone for setting the push for Manning. THey are best friends....and he knows the terminology of the Colts offense.

They say why else would you hire him as a WR coach?!?!/ Hint hint...they got him in and want him maybe to translate the offense.....

Where is Shane....but I see this is a major chess move for check mate....Manning will be a Cardinal.

Same reason why we let Haley pursue Pittsburgh.....

Manning will be his own Off Coordinator.

Anyone have any info about how Reich fits on the coaching tree?

Does Whiz know him from somewhere?
Have Grimm, Miller, Whiz, or Horton worked with him at some point?
Systematically, does his background even line up with the offense we run?

It doesn't seem like a "normal" Whiz hire. because of that, I think it might have been the loudest announcement to the world that we will pursue PM.

Some things I am thinking about:
I read that PM and Reich are tight. If so, have FR & PM talked while he has been out of work?
Could this lead to improved back-channel communications?
Could PM have told him it was a good place for him to go?
Is FR deep into our playbook right now, re-naming plays to PM's vernacular?

Just some stuff to throw out there.

I'm thinking on same level as you but in different areas.
Was he hired as our receivers coach to teach these guys where Peyton likes to throw?
Was he hired teach them the way Peyton communicates with the offense at the line and preparing them to have routes changed on a whim?
Is this one of the things Fitz wanted to talk to Peyton about when they had a lunch date scheduled?
Was this something Peyton told Fitz he'd be interested in having to ease transition?
So many questions...

To all this one can add a call out of the blue from Bill Polian to Whiz highly recommending Reich... :talk:
