Why? He had 840 yards for $6m. That's great value.

In year 1 of a new scheme too. Year too can only get better (if he stays healthy).
There is value in availability. I don’t think we can risk spending any of our cap on an rb that has been breaking down.

Well, unless you have a magical way of going back in time and drafting 2 1st round receivers and 2 2nd round receivers in the last 6 drafts I don't see any other way.

How about we deal with reality and not dreams and wishes?

Oh and by the way, Green was WR3 on our roster last year and had more yards, on less targets, than the Bengals WR3 Tyler Boyd.

Not sure what age has to do with results.

This offense needs SPEED! Hopkins is a great Wr. He needs somebody on the other side that scares the defense. Green doesn’t scare anybody. He doesn’t command double coverage EVER.
A guy like Cedric Wilson or DJ Chark would. At least at times. We need to stop thinking old and broken praying they have one more good year in them.

Cedrick Wilson and DJ Chark are never commanding double teams ever in his lifetime… holy hyperbole

La'el Collins is on the block.
Top 6 OT.

3 years @ 10m per remaining on his contract.

Tried to bribe drug testers last year so he got suspended, but it wasn't due to injury.

We should call cap strapped Dallas and offer a 6th and AI...they just traded coop so a wr might interest them....let them bully us to a 4th and AI...

Hump and Collins would be a nice set of bookends

The reality is that Keim picked a slot corner over Deebo Samuel and AJ Brown in the 2019 draft.

The reality is that Keim picked a guy with 31 career receptions in 3 years over DK Metcalf, Dionte Johnson and Terry McLauren in the second round of the same draft. He actually passed on Johnson and McLauren again for Zach Allen at the top of the 3rd round.

The reality is that Keim picked a guy who was benched for Tanner Vallejo in the playoffs over CeeDee Lamb, Justin Jefferson and Tee Higgins.

The reality is that Keim has spent second round picks on receivers in 3 of the past 4 drafts, and we are still talking about signing a 34-year-old AJ Green to fill a huge hole on the outside.

The reality is that Keim has drafted 6 receivers in the last 5 drafts and we started Antoine Wesley on the outside in the playoffs.

That is the reality of the situation. Keim has put us in this neverending WR search by being inept at drafting them. Just because nobody can do anything about it now doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Very well said. Hard to take though.

Why would Wilson command double team when you’re on the field with Lamb and Cooper? Chark is fast. Had over a 1000 yards a couple of years ago for the JAGUARS.
Both could stretch the field are realistically affordable compared to other free agents.
But perhaps you’re happy to pay Kirk 15m a year. Please offer your ideas.

Yeah I would love to have Chark, hes a really good boundary receiver and he put up those numbers playing with JAX.

Cedric Wilson commands double coverage

Neither would DJ Chark. If Nuk is on the field he's the only one getting doubled.

Yeah well were talking about what we can do now. Not what we wish we had done before.

It was his first year in the system though. You would expect some gaffs.

If we can sign him for a similar price I think that's good value.
Gaffe :BIM:

That's a catch-22, though. Another year in the system means another year older for an aged, injury-prone, and decidedly uninterested WR. Not a good combo. A Keim time special, to be sure, which isn't a compliment. He'll be 34 by next season. Yeah, no thanks.

It's not being unrealistic and "dreaming and wishes" to not want a 34-year old AJ Green back lol

Why would a WR3 that never had more than 600 yards command a double team?

Chark has had one 1000 yard year, just. He played 4 games last year and had 154 yards.

I like Chark as an upside signing. He's talented. But age aside the difference between him and Green are none existent. He missed 4 games the year before too.

And I'd rather have Green at $6, than Chark at $12-$14m. I'd rather Green for one year than punt on Chark staying healthy on a multi year deal.

What's his age got to do with his on field performance? Are 850 yards from a 28 year old of more value than 850 yards from a 34 year old?

That was from a 33 year-old, not a 34-year old. Let's not pretend age doesn't matter at some point. History tells us that will be much sooner than later at his advanced age. Add in that he'd now be our #2, attracting more coverage, and add in how oddly poor he was at times, and the idea is worse.

I mean, are we really, really pinning hopes of getting better or at least treading water on a 34-year old AJ Green? Is that you, Steve Keim?

Just ask yourself if all things were equal would you rather have a 850 yard 34 year old or an 850 yard 28 year old? I know my answer
