Apparently, according to everyone's favorite radio host, Gambo, Memphis rejected the following trade:

Gay, Conley, Warrick, #1 for Stoudemire

That seems to work for both teams. I would have definitely considered pulling the trigger. Gambo is going nuts calling Memphis "stupid and moronic." Not too sure if I agree with him. Seems pretty balanced for both teams.

Well of course they rejected it. Thanks to Sarver, they think that the Suns are keen on dumping Amare at any cost. So why would they want to give up so much? Soon enough teams will be asking for us to give up draft picks with Stoudemire.

I don't like the trade. Gay has worse hands then Amare. He leads in the NBA at the forward position in total turnovers and turnovers per game. Gay is the one player at the forward position worse then Amare in that category. He is a good scorer, teribble rebounder and not a good defener. Sounds familiar don't it???

Your getting a similar player, plus role players and a draft pick. Again, if your planning on blowing up the team completely, then I guess stocking up on bench players and a pick makes sense. I just don't want Gay as our future SF/PF on this team and Warrick is a role player not a starter IMO.

That draft pick better turn out to be one hell of a player or this trade is gets even worse after the draft.

Because they are bidding against a bunch of other teams.

The Suns are a national joke!!!

Question for you guys from a rookie on this stuff.

Could Memphis just be trying to squeeze more out of the deal. According to the trade machine we could throw in Admunson or Barnes in the deal if we had to. Would you still do that if we threw in one of them?

Gay is a small forward, no?

Warrick is the PF replacing Amare.

They use them interchangeably. Gay is is 6'8 222. Warrick is 6'9, 219. They have them both on the floor but neither really plays a "true PF". I should have said forward or SF/PF. At any rate, you still end up getting a SF at best with terrible hands, poor rebounding and no defense. Then you would end up with a role player playing your PF position.

Oh by the way Warrick is terrible at defending too. He allows almost 22.3 PPG at the PF position.

i think that trade seems about right. Gay, Conley and Warrick are all decent and we get their number one.

Then they build around Mayo and Amare. Remember Amare committed to Memphis, so Im sure he likes the area.

If Sarver is dead set on trading Amare, this trade would have been PERFECT. Would prefer Lowry over Conley though.

I just don't get these trade scenarios. We should be trading for more defense and rebounding. Not similar players with similar problems then staking our future on a draft pick. Makes zero sense. Warick and Conley are not starting material IMO.

We are not trading to get better now. We are not trading for guys to fit into Porters system. We are trading for young guys that cost less and that Kerr would like to watch up-close until he takes over as head coach.

Enough of this trying to get better stuff. You dont trade Amare and get better.

Why didn't we trade with Memphis LAST year.

We could have easily given more than the used jock strap the Lakers gave up for Gasol.

Now I have to wait and listen until Gambo tells us about this new team. Hopefully it wont be like the Biedrins trade yesterday where he creamed himself over Biedrins and called him a defensive anchor.

I like the trade Gambo keeps mentioning. Biedrins, Randolph, Turiaf for Amare. According to him, it's a legit scenario. But who really knows.

Bierdrins is a rebounding machine, Randolph has LOADS of potential (12/7/2 last night in 14 minutes), and Turiaf is a great role player.

Enough of this trying to get better stuff. You dont trade Amare and get better.

You do if you can get a defensive minded rebounding PF in return. This team would be better with say a Rasheed Wallace playing at PF in place of Amare. In fact, there is no question that if you put a defensive/rebounding minded PF on this team, this team is better. Amare only plays one side of the ball..offense. This teams weakness? Rebounding, Defense & Turnovers. Trading Amare improves all of that as long as your not trading for a similar player with the same problems.

Even if you don't beleive that, trading Amare for basically a SF that is worse then Amare and draft pick is a good deal? Wow. Expectations are really low.
