Might? He had at a minimum a somewhat dead arm last year, it was one of the first things that stood out in the early season that I posted about. The difference between his throws and accuracy (which I admit has always been suspect at times) pre 2016 and 2016+ are noticeable.

This preseason CP was talking about how he was hopeful for this year because he actually doesn't throw the ball very much anymore because the sport scientists told them that is the best way to preserve his arm so he could make good throws. It makes sense, except a couple days of light practice with your unit each week isn't going to cut it in the NFL. You don't see a QB with a healthy arm limiting throws worrying about the future when they need to perform their best and win today, not years down the road when they might not even have a job. When someone is doing that you can be assured he is trying to limp through the final season. My best guess is the shoulder/rotator is giving him pain, and not so much that his actual strength, as in muscle is weakened. He could probably still fling it a country mile but at the expense of feeling like his arm is coming apart for the next couple days.
Sure is funny that he sure doesn't seem the same since his finger injury that many here said wasn't an issue Hmmmm

I still say Iupati needs to be pulled (until healthy) as well as Shipley & playing either Boehm at C or Munyer & inserting Boone into one of the guard spots. I also don't see any nastiness from Veldheer at RT. the Oline is a total freaking mess! Who's our best 5?
Agree with the middle of the line being a weak spot. Time for some changes like you suggested. They are giving up too much pressure and can't get any push on run plays.

I'll agree with the throwing to a spot because I think you're dead on! Is he being coached to do that? If that's the case IMO it proves my point on the lack of practice with the receivers even more.

Another issue I think is a factor is the push some teams get up the middle that doesn't allow CP to step up & deliver a good ball. A perfect example was the overthrow of Jaron Brown on the pick in the middle of the field. As soon as he passed the ball the blocker was bull rushed into him & he couldn't step into his throw. Grant sometimes he has to eat the ball but that play was either going to be a fumble or an int because he was already throwing the pass. I still say Iupati needs to be pulled (until healthy) as well as Shipley & playing either Boehm at C or Munyer & inserting Boone into one of the guard spots. I also don't see any nastiness from Veldheer at RT. the Oline is a total freaking mess! Who's our best 5?

Our receivers rarely get any separation, could that be a reason he's being coached to throw to a spot. If he waits until the dude is open he'll be sacked. Or could that be a reason he's doing it? Oh to be a fly on the well at headquarters.

1. Palmer is who he is, turnover prone. Even if you don't have time, you throw the ball away and by that I don't mean float them into the middle of the field. It will be a miracle if ARZ wins 8 games with Palmer at QB.

2. Need another WR to help Fitz. Shocked ARZ did not make a bigger play for either Maclin or Jeffrey.

3. OL needs to step it up, hopefully Boone picks up the playbook in a hurry because he would provide an upgrade to the interior of the line who could not open holes for DJ. May need to shift Veldheer back to LT if Hump is going to be out a while, hopefully someone can man the RT spot until Hump gets back.

Biggest off season needs: QB, WR x 2 , CB (Bethel is a UFA), maybe OG if Iupati is cut and Boehm moves to natural C position (maybe bring back Boone).

The deep ball is still his kryptonite:bang:

I'm surprised it took that long for the Lions to attack him deep! I have a feeling it's going to start happening more regularly again until he proves he can defend it ugh

This. It's going to keep happening to Bethel all season long as teams watch tape on the guy. It's like he is always a step behind on those coverage situations.

We learned that it is the same old thing year after year. Personally, I have about had it with them. I am just too old to go on with this crapola. I'm at the end of the Cardinal rope, hanging on by just a thread right now. Unfortunately, I don't see the coming years as being much different than the same old Cardinal song of unfulfilled hope.

I have been a pretty loyal fan since they arrived in AZ, even though I dreaded getting them as out team. I have stayed loyal even after moving and living in Texas and now So Cal for years. But the pain has become too unbearable now. I am too old to beat this dead horse for much longer.

Might Palmer have a dead arm??

He was a bit better in the second half, but was all over the place much of the game
His mechanics were funky - i.e. he'd try to "go high" to push the ball to an open receiver short and wasn't drilling the ball on wide side of the field routes.

I dont care what fans learned. I hope the team learned something...and more than that I hope management learned something.
whatever we have been doing the past couple off seasons...it dont work.
this team is so piss poor un coordinated sloppy and slow to start a season it is pathetic.
the pee wee teams down the street looked better on saturday morning.

I like BA,... but I have no feelings towards his staff other than what I have seen from them on the field...we need changes.... young bettcher might actually be the most effective coach we have, lmao...
line coach needs to walk away from the game,...maybe go coach the chubby seniors volleyball hotties out in sun city or something.
is it Palmer?? Or are we seeing the leftwich effect?? If its carson, they need to have iupati hurry up and step on his ankle before his annual season ending injury...let stanton play out the year and we can compete with the J-E-T-S for the #1 pick

our staff has spent so much time complaining about the lack of practice the team is allowed... but somehow other teams manage to look like professionals week one while we continue to look as if we didnt have enough time to practice.
