my favorite characters are Tyrion, Arya, and Jon...so the show has kept me interested this season....the deviations from the books started pretty quickly this season...and that has also kept my interest,.. waiting to see what is going to happen.

there was a reason why some characters disappeared for an entire book,..or most of one anyway...you just cant work every storyline and keep the timeline accurate....which, IMO is how the Mereene knot was caused...in the books as well as on screen too much time is being devoted to Daenarys/dragons when that time would be better spent advancing other characters....I am glad however that they skipped the storyline of Arya as fishmonger...it worked in the books, but would have just slowed progress on screen....unless, now that she is ready "to be someone else"...they are going to switch back to that storyline?

Okay, I've been down on this show this season. I thought it started good the first few episodes and then just unraveled into uninteresting tripe. I do still think it is clearly the weakest season of all thus far.

That said, THIS episode was an absolute home run. I mean, almost each and every scene was enthralling, demanding of my attention.

Even the Sansa scene didn't suck, and they didn't dawdle with the boring Boltons. Still didn't dig it, but they did what they usually used to do and get past the sucky stuff so quickly, and surrounding it with such great material, that it doesn't make a difference as to the quality of the whole episode.

okay...tonights episode.......

****ing ROCKIN!! Loved it...

was really happy to see Sansa Stark show a little bit of guts and get in Theon's grill...was also tickled she learned that her little brothers may still be alive.....gives her a reason to fight back and/or try and escape.
I also noticed...there is still some Theon inside Reek,...he really wanted Sansa to know he didn't kill her brothers....that entire storyline gained some life and I hope they run with it.

Daenarys and Tyrion.....could be the most dangerous combination the seven kingdoms has ever seen..... however, she will have little use of Tyrion if she actually does, "Break The Wheel".... I think she is happy to have someone who will tell it to her straight and provide intelligent conversation while also providing a younger and more recent tie to the home she has never seen. Looking forward to their future conversations.

The Crow,..... the nights watch storyline made leaps and bounds tonight which I am sure many will appreciate. I am a big fan of that Snow kid so I was glad to see them spend time on that storyline....getting to see the white walker army up close and in action was nice as well...a bit cheesy and humorous in spots...they need to be careful not to come off like a rehashed army of darkness...it was close tonight. But the wildlings now have a little reason to trust the head crow as many of them saw him lead the charge into the walkers army..... I was surprised to see Jon was surprised that his Valerian steel sword would kill a white walker...he should have known that.
(for those who may be confused not all of the dead are "white walkers" those are the leaders,...what I have always considered a "Wight"...the rest are just undead)....how many of them were Craster's sons do ya think?

anyway,...I really enjoyed tonights episode...thought the storylines advanced well...now I am kinda bummed there are only like two episodes left this season..........

Holy crap that was good. This is the fastest hour on TV. I'm always left wanting more.

Best episode of the season, bar none.

Holy !@&!? I don't even no where to start. The leader of the White walkers putting his arms out and basically saying.....yeah I don't care what you do and this is why!!!!!!

One of the most epic scenes of the entire series!

By the way......why do I have a feeling this will be another season where the show has a dud season finale because the writers blew their wad so to speak before the last episode.....again.

Yeah, except in Game of Thrones tradition, it's at least worth it. By far the best episode of the season.

I wonder if....

since Dragon Glass and Valyrian Steel seem to be the White Walker's and Wight's weaknesses (maybe also Giants smashing them, too?) if the living can find enough resources to compete with the undead. We have at least 22 more episodes to find out

I have been wondering... Jorah Mormont.... do you think he is still hoping Daenarys will take pity on him and lift him out of the fighting pits?? Or is it more likely he is planning a grand spectacle of suicide to make sure she knew he could not live without her?... he knows she hates the pits...but he was adamant with the slave handler, .. " Let me fight for her...".... My guess is that he is going for the dramatic suicide.........

however,...should he just become a nasty pit fighter....it could open future possibilities should she ever need him in the future...

That is a possibility since he is probably going to change forever from the "infection" anyway.

You forget that the stone-men touched him, he is a dead man walking. I'm sure he is willing to throw his life away right now, but I can't peg what his plan is. I'm assuming he is hoping to die in some grand redemptive gesture but how becoming a pit fighter helps is something that escapes me. Slaughtering a bunch of guys in the arena isn't going to win Dany over. Maybe he is just hoping to get back into the city and go from there.

One more thing. Yes, last night's episode was incredible. You can see how much the show's effects team has grown when they put together a 10-15 minute sequence of that scope and it plays off so beautifully. I'm not sure if it's my favorite episode but its in the top 5.

If he gets redeemed ,...pretty sure Daenarys has the resources to get him cured..... as Stannis' daughter was cured...

one thing I have always been sketchy on...stone men were created by getting greyscale weren't they?? so it cant be completely fatal?? wouldn't mormont just become a stone man himself?

Does she? Unless I'm missing something or have completely forgotten, she doesn't have any maesters or healers at her disposal, and I think the ones who cured Stannis' daughter are from Westeros

healers have not played a part in her storyline but that does not mean she has none....as a "queen"...you would think there would be access to some sort of healer even if it were strictly mystic/magic in nature as the one who kept kal drogo "alive"..... in westeros it is tradition to keep a maester close as an advisor due to their education,..... we have not witnessed such a tradition elsewhere as of yet.

I guess the question is--besides the Dothraki, are there any legit healers in Essos (even the Dothraki don't appear to be familiar with something like grey scale)? I mean, the Stonemen are in Essos, so I suppose someone in Essos could have an idea of how to treat/cure grey scale.

Honestly, I really don't know. I personally think that if he gets rejected a third time by Dany, he may sacrifice himself with the mindset that he has nothing to live for as he's essentially dying.

I am thinking the same thing....pretty sure he wants her to see him die.....since the departure from the books the show is different for me...before I was waiting for certain things to happen,..now I wonder what is going to happen,....and what they will use from the books versus what they will not.
that time period Tyrion spend as a slave helped develop him as a character in the books...kind of changed his outlook on many things...his humbling is more implied now...I see why they skipped it...would have taken the rest of the season to run that storyline... but I did kind of want to see it play out..... whatever happens,...pretty sure when Jorah Mormont decides to go out,..it will be glorious to behold!!
