knew it

also---harris has been benched

my sources tell me that we are close to a trade that sendsour 2nd round pick next year to the Bears for anthony thomas. My question is this then.....why not cut emmitt if this happenes.

I live in chicago and this is all they are talking about right now.....Clayton cracked it

I'd be pretty f'n esctatic if that happened, and I have no problem with the price. But, why cut Emmitt?

Aren't we competing directly against 15 other teams and directly against all 31? ;)

Thomas was rookie of the year, what, 2 years ago? He hasn't had major injury or really donr that much to hurt his stock. He's just played in a piss-poor offense.

The only thing that smells fishy is that he's not the sort of back DG covets, I don't think. He's not of the Robert Smith mold, he's a little more of a straight-line runner (though he does have some wiggle to go with his power--he can make the first guy miss).

2nd round pick for A Train would be a bad move. First, that's way too high a price for him (Same price as Corey Dillon?!) and second, he's a bad fit for the offense.

James Jackson is better and can be had for a 4th, which is still too high.

S-Side, who are Clayton's sources? Why isn't this all over the AZ radio?

I'd change my avatar to something more inspiring if this goes through.

A 2nd round is a little to high. The bears would probably take a 3rd to replace what they gave to Miami.
I would make this trade mainly because Anderson and Crooms seem to be situational rb's at this point and heaven forbid anything happens to Emmitt.

Doon't you think Miami would rather have had A-Train over Booker if that were the case? I don't think they'd take a 3rd for him, in fact, I think that's crazy talk.

A-Train would work for the right price, but why cut Emmitt?

The way our O-Line played last year, they'll both be killed by the bye week anyway so we need the bodies.

Man, I wish we had more data here. This is killing me. I'd love to jump on the A-Train...

What?
Anyone else here see the irony of releasing T. Jones, him riding the trade-go-round to Chicago then the Bears sending A. Thomas to us? Who's getting screwed here?

If Thomas can't beat out Jones I'm worried.

Exactly.

Thomas was a second round pick in 2001 (38th overall). He's been healthy save for a broken finger. If this is true, a 2nd round pick is about right. Can they be that happy with Thomas Jones?

I too, am from the Chicago area and this is a well known fact in these parts. GM Jerry Angelo has never been an a-train supporter. Never. He's always have stated that he dosen't think Thomas is a rb that can carry the team.
I wonder how much Bob Wylie would like the train running behind his o-line?
