The Hornets waived him along with Dale Davis(who has apparently committed to the Pacers). Does he have any game left, and if so, would we want him?

ok.....if he couldnt crack the rotation once in Philly, AND New Orleans WAIVED him, do you think ANYONE would want to pick him up. we've got a plethera of quality SG/SF guys, so i dont think we need another one.

we need a big guy for the middle and a PG for nash....that's it. and we've got an hour and 15 minutes to pick one up.

I thought O'Brien didn't want him because he doesn't play defense and the Hornets want to play their youth.

I wouldn't mind having him come in to nail some jump shots for ten minutes a game, or in case somebody is in foul trouble.

As far as I know, he is still injured and unable to play.

Even when he could play, he couldn't play Suns basketball. He is alergic to passing the ball.

I've noticed two big changes in the NBA the past few years. The first is that we are playing a tremendous amount of back to back games. Ten years ago we were lucky to play 4 or 5 sets. Now it is almost a weekly or bi-weekly occurrence.

The second change has occurred since the all-star break. How many big name players with big contracts or even smaller contracts that were once huge stars in this league, have been waived as we have been seeing of late? It was usually a troublemaker such as Rodman that a team wished to dispose of. I think that last year we were lucky to see even one person waived. Now we have players like Payton, Davis, Mourning, Robinson and just now Person hitting the open road. Yes, many have asked to be waived, but the present team still needs to pay the salary or pay a buy-out.

I wonder what the newest "thing" will be for next year. Maybe huge incentives for a "majority of contracts" if a team wins so many games in the play-offs. Two sets of refs for every play-off game....one for the first half and one for the second. Coaches have two instant play backs for disputed calls just like the NFL....lose a time-out if you are wrong about a call or technical foul that was committed. Older players have in their contracts that there will be a roster spot on the coaching staff after their BB career ends, or they can buy into the ownership.

I just never expected all of this "waiving of former stars" like we have seen of late.

On one of the broadcasts, they said Robinson was on the injured list, but was capable of playing. Supposedly he was trying to force the team to trade him, give him a buyot, or just release him so he could go where he wanted to play. I think it was Aldrige on TNT on Friday before the All Star weekend that said this. :)

In some cases the guys aren't even former stars. Henderson is hardly a household name. The key is that teams with no chance to win can save money in these deals while getting something they want.
