he didn't kill us and the O-line gave Palmer time to throw. no complaints from me this week.

Speaking of the o-line, Suh might as well have been suspended. Didn't hear his name called much at all.

Levi did fine in this one as did the entire OL. The Lions stopped the Vikings cold last week. Although we did get a break with Fairley being out in this game.

Yes...even though he was helped out about 60% of the plays.

It appeared that way to me as well. Gotta give him credit for the times he was left on an island and did well. I think BA giving him more help earlier in the game (that's what it looked like to me) helped get his confidence back and didn't allow the horror show from last week to get started right away.

Suh did make several plays behind the line of scrimmage but basically wasn't a major factor. I blame BA for the one where he expected Colledge to pull across and pick up Suh, he's just far to quick for that to work. Another one was on Sendlein who was beat by Suh's quicks and strength.

I give the Oline a B for their performance today.

I watched him a lot today, especially when he had no help. He handled #94, whenever he had him one on one. One adjustment I think Levi made... he was getting into his pass blocking stance so quick I thought a flag was coming for sure about three times in this game.

Ill disagree, Palmer almost never was able to step into his throws. The pocket became a wall every play rather than a pocket. There was nothing to step into. I guess thats not Levis fault, that is the guards. In their defense, it doesnt get much better than Suh and Fairly on the inside.

By the way, Palmer is a beast. He makes some incredible throws.

As I posted lasted week on the Levi bashing thread:

"Some weeks he will be fine, others he will be overmatched and it is up to the coaches to know that and give him help. Sunday he was getting killed by his matchup. He is part of the team and it is a team sport. He will need help some weeks, other weeks he will dominate his man.

He isn't as bad as so many of you make out. He is a Cardinal and should be shown more respect by some of you. He will have some tough days and coach should know and foresee that and design to protection accordingly. He isn't lazy, I'm sure he is giving his all, and when up against these all pro rushers, of course he will have it rough. These guys are all pros for a reason."

I'm really pulling for Levi. Hopefully he can play like the 1st round pick that he was supposed to be under this new system.

If he does.... well that frees up our 2014 1st rounder for say... a PASS RUSHER! :D

and some really really ****ty ones.

The main knock on Palmer is that he will occasionally make a bone-headed throw at the worst time to cost his team a game.

My first thought on his pick-6 was that he made his mistake too early and we would be able to recover. And then when we started that last TD drive, I knew he had already gotten his flub out of the way.

:D

Great post D-Dogg !!!!! Many get on him when he struggles. It's nice to see someone step up and praise him after a job well done. I was VERY proud of our offensive line this week, (especially the interior for the way they handled the Lions' Defensive Line.

Good. You shouldn't leave any LT on an island every play like we did week 1. Quinn lined up so wide that not even the best LT in the league would have been able to get to him on some those pressures week 1. Credit to BA for making that adjustment. Credit to Levi for not killing us with penalties and solid blocking all around this week.

I am still counting the days until we get his replacement. Yes, he didn't kill us. Although there was that one play that he was completely run over and the defender got to Palmer. Someone said it best in the other thread, it's not the ups you have to worry about with Levi....it's the downs....which are usually really bad.

Dang. Levi cost us a TD on the very first drive. Whiffed on his block which forced Palmer to throw early and miss a wide open Fitzgerald down the left sideline. I'm surprised Bucky never mentioned that. Or did I miss it?

Duckjake, I'm not sure but the miss to Larry might have been Larry's fault due to his hamstring problem. Also, Levi and the o-line might have benefitted from the game being played on grass. It's turf this week, and imo, that helps the speed olb's. It will also benefit guys like Ellington, Roberts and Housler (if he's able to play). JMO.

It's fairly obvious from the Coache's film that Palmer had to hurry the throw because Levi's guy was right on top of him. A shame too because we don't get to see our WRs that wide open very often. It is good though to see our QB get rid of the football instead of running backwards into a sack.
