I get links to a lot of really old articles when doing google searches. For example a recent search on top 10 suvs got articles written as far back as 1998 on the first page of the search results!

Is there anyway to get more recent results?

That is weird, normally Google is really good about defaulting recent results. I could not duplicate that.

But yes, on the right side of the search textbox on Google is a small link that says "advanced search". Click on that, and then you have to expand the date/usage link at the bottom and you can specify pages only updated within your preferred timeframe.

Thanks.

I was getting tired of wading through all the out of date stuff.

Wow, I googled "top 10 suvs" and got only articles from 2007 and 2008 on the first page. Maybe your google is broken.

I really think using search engines is an art form, some people are more efficient than others. I took a couple of classes at ASU on "Mastering Cyberspace", and countless hours surfing the web just looking for random things has taught me a lot.

Sometimes you really need to think about what it is you are looking for, and how to phrase it.

A small example would be typing in ASFN without quotes, and with quotes. You're number one hit is different. That is a lame example I know, but there is a difference in something that subtle.

If you are looking for the top 10 suvs for example...what are you looking for more specifically. I personally, would word it "best rated suvs" and 2008 or whatever year you were looking for, and if I were looking for top rated in fuel, I would add some more, for example.

Good luck!!!
