Honest question: With the poor reporting that Jurecki has done over the past few years, why are people suddenly taking his word as a certainty?
Somers, someone who is much more reliable than Jurecki, hasn't reported anything of this nature.
What is the "poor reporting" that you're talking about? Can you give some examples? It take a pretty tinted set of lenses to think that Jurecki is just conjuring reportage out of thin air.
Somers also isn't reporting that discussions with Fitz are still ongoing. We actually haven't heard that in a while.
As I have been saying for the past 3 weeks... ANYONE who honestly think Fitz is in the Cards future with everything that has gone on is crazy...
Those are prolly also the same who honestly believed Marion would be a Phoenix Sun is just plain delerious....
And for the same reasons as has been previously stated.... The Cards need to publicly put Fitz on the Block, and wait for either
A. The Eagles to come back and relent to the previous of Sheppard 1st and 2nd
B. Wait for the Cowboys to call and offer the 22 and 29 picks, and then ask for Chris Canty as well....
The Cards should NOT accept anything less than a top Defensive player, and first round pick.. PERIOD...
Not by much, and when you include his baggage, they are at least equal in terms of value.
The trouble is that the negative turns out to be true in the end more often than not. Sad, but true.Read the board for 5 minutes and you will see why.

The problem with taking Lito Shepard and their first is that Lito is a one year rent-a-player. He will be a free agent next yaer and will want big $. Thats why we need at least 2 draft picks in the deal.
Why would the Cardinals take less than 2 first rounders when that is compensation if he were a restricted free agent signing with another team?
Hi, Eagles fan here.
I just wanted to point out that this is false:
Lito is signed until 2011. You can see the details of his contract here: http://www.eaglescap.com/Players/LitoSheppard.html
He's not happy with his deal though and would probably want to renegotiate with whichever team he gets traded to if he does get traded. The Eagles signed him long term very early in his career. Some of you may remember that we still had Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor starting at CB in 2002 and 2003.
Would Lito Sheppard and a 1st rounder be less than 2 first rounders? Not in my opinion. Sheppard was drafted in the first round, he's still young (26), he's been to the pro bowl twice. He is easily a top ten corner and he has a knack for making big plays. I'd love to keep him, but I don't get to make that decision.
Fitz was a 1st rounder also, a top 5 pick. So what your saying is we would get a 1st (#15) for Lito, not enough!!! Sheppard is a solid player who is not even better than the CB's we have on our roster. Your wanting one of the best players in the league (and Wr's) for that. Jimmy Johnson fleeced the Vikes years ago, but Fitz isn't going cheap. No way I do a deal for Fitz unless I get two starters and a 1st or 2nd rounder. Fitz is a proven to be a great player, that is why I want players in return. Draft picks may or may not be good players. 4 or 5 seasons ago, would the Eagles have given McNabb up for a solid CB and a mid-first rounder? NO WAY!!!
that is just off the charts right there.
You dont really believe that Eric Green is better than Sheppard. C'mon lets be truthfull here.Sheppard is a solid player who is not even better than the CB's we have on our roster.
Yes, it was because the team sucked, he didn't want to be there and they needed to rebuild. You can rebuild when you have the highest paid player at a position. Players can only lose for so long before that becomes their mentality. That is why Whiz wanted so many new faces in here last year.Believe what you want. There was a reason that Moss was traded in the first place, and oh, it wasn't because of his contract.

Tell us oh football oracle who is better.
Niave, childish, morons want to drink from your fountain of unending truth and knowlege.
I will. Lito is better than any CB on our team, and it shouldn't be debatable.
It's like saying Fitz is better than any WR on the Eagles.....
There is no way Fitzgerald is better than the Eagles recievers !
He is a Cardinal. He is overpaid and he sucks. I mean press coverage locks him down.
Fitzgerald will only be good once he is off the Cardinals, and plays with another team.
Wait, this is right?
Nope.
I have seen the light. I have been convinced that I am 100% wrong. I read, and studied that vast truths, and facts on this board.
I now know how wrong I am about everything with this team.

Here is the solution, go to Fitz and tell him they are trading him to Chicago and Rex Grossman will be throwing him the ball. Either he freaks out and settles for a new contract or the trade goes down like this.
Fitz and Al Johnson for Rashied Davis, Olin Kreutz, Charles Tillman and Chicago second round pick.
To me Olin Kreutz is key there. He is a pro bowl center and with Chicago wanting to rebuild the line, at 30 years old, I am not sure he is up for that, but on the young AZ team, he is the instant leader and most proven player on the OL. Tillman is a above average DB and Rashied Davis could turn out to be something. I do not think Chicago would give up a first with also giving up Olin and Charles.
No deal to me. I thought Seidlein came in and arguably played better than Al Johnson. Al Johnson didn't have a horrible year last year either. He was solid.
yes I did, my badDid you mean can't rebuild??? Can rebuild don't sound right under the scenario you laid out. Moss left because Oakland was a one ring circus going around with one oar in the water. He did not have to prove that he was one of the top receivers anymore, he just wanted to experience winning...can't be more than that.
Without a doubt the worst job in the league is coaching the Raiders under Al Davis...(duh)
