TEs are the scum of the league. They should just do away with that position. TEs are nothing but a waste of money and lots of trouble. Just ask Aaron Hernandez. They are the bullies and thugs of the NFL.

I think it is clear that k9s argument is that Gresham has been a model of inconsistancy throughout his career and he is dealing with a back issue. So he is far from a sure thing. As K9 has said he has no problem if the Cards bring him in on a cheap one year prove it deal. I agree with that as well.

If anything he has been quite consistent. He has averaged 50-60 catches per year with 5 TDs per year. I would call that pretty consistent. I think K9s argument is Gresham has underperformed which I think is questionable. Without knowing what the Bengals asked him to do in their offense we really don't know if he was or wasn't all he could be. The main reason the Bengals are not interested in him has more to do with his demeanor in the locker room than production on the field. From what I read he wasn't exactly a good team player nor a positive influence.

Inconsistent as in dropped balls, fumbles and penalties at the most inopportune times. Go ask a Bengal fan and they will tell you Gresham hasn't lived up to expectations. They are all frustrated with his mental mistakes.

K9, has laid out the argument for signing Gresham. At his best, he is average. For us AVERAGE would be GOOD.

And that kind of production places him solidly in the bottom third of starting TEs in the NFL.

In 2014, among all tight ends, Gresham was ranked 11th in receptions and 11th in touchdowns. He was an abysmal 21 in yards, but that in my opinion is all on Candy Andy's fluffboy arm and the system. He did have 3 fumbles.

But bottom third in the league? I would say statistics disagree.

Look, the thing with Gresham is that he never had any business being a first round pick. That's why Bengals fans hate him. That and the fact that they, like everyone except the patriots, were too stupid t draft Gronk like they should have.

Gresham had herniated disc surgery in mid March. Recovery time for that is about 4 months. Then he can begin to work on getting back to football shape.

So that puts Gresham right at the 4 month mark for recovery. Wonder how long it will take him to get into football shape?

Still I get nervous with back issues especially with guys who need to block large Defensive Lineman. That is a lot of stress on your back. Hopefully this isn't a cronic issue and he was able to pass his physical.

No news today on #azcardinals and Jermaine Greshman. Assumed he visited as scheduled but signing isn't imminent.

TE Jermaine Greshman did visit @azcardinals today. No deal in place. No word on how his physical exam went.

Jermaine Gresham starts Cardinals tenure on PUP list

The team placed Gresham on the physically unable to perform list Wednesday, which leaves him ineligible to practice until the team activates him from the list.

He’s not the only tight end that the Cardinals will be waiting on as camp gets underway. Troy Niklas landed on the non-football injury list with a hamstring injury that he presumably suffered while doing work away from the team in the last few weeks. He also had ankle surgery in June, which may have joined John Carlson’s retirement as a reason for the Cardinals’ interest in Gresham.
