Hopefully the Suns decide to play a competitive game tonight when the Grizzlies visit after they lost to the Clippers last night in a game that was not even close.

Don’t let the 13-point margin deceive you. The Suns were dominated by a Clippers team that had lost three straight, didn’t have Blake Griffin, Patrick Beverley or Danilo Gallinari and started two players on two-way contracts. Phoenix never led in the game, trailed by as many as 25 and never came close to recording its first three-game winning streak of the season.
“Very sub-par performance,” interim coach Jay Triano said. “We were sloppy most of the night and lacked focus. Our energy level wasn’t where it needed to be.”

Grizzlies at Suns
When: 7 p.m.
Where: Talking Stick Resort Arena.
TV/radio: FSAZ/KTAR 98.7 FM
Update:
The Grizzlies are 9-21 and had lost six of their last seven games before facing Golden State in the Bay Area on Wednesday. Memphis fired coach David Fizdale earlier this season after it was reported that veteran center Marc Gasol and Fizdale weren’t getting along. The Grizzlies also are without point guard Mike Conley (heel). Gasol and Tyreke Evans are the only healthy players averaging more than 10 points per game. Memphis ranks 29th in the league in scoring and last in pace. Phoenix, which is second in pace to the Los Angeles Lakers, will try to make it a up-tempo game.
