Yep, it seemed unthinkable, but Slash and Axl have made nice and they are about to pocket a ton of cash. They will headline Coachella in April, both weekends, and then do a stadium tour.

Who else is going to throw some money their way? I hope they play UofP, but I might just go to Coachella if they do't.

"Appetite for Destruction" is one of those albums that is perfect from start to finish. They had some big hits after that, but that album hit the metal scene like a meteorite when it came out.

I loved Appetite and want to see GnR live. However I've heard so many stories of Axl's tantrums on stage that I am concerned that I would be wasting my $ on tickets.

Yeah, that is what I think now too. After he failed to show up for Jimmy Kimmel I thought.. "Do I really want to pay $200 to see them take the stage 3 hours late?"

That surprises me. I'll believe it when I see it.

They should call it the "When the Jungle Freezes Over" tour. :grabs:

Love the original band but I wouldn't pay a dime to see them now for the reason stated, too afraid Axl would walk off or something.

Axl's voice isn't the same at least it wasn't on the last album he did. It'll be interesting but I won't pay to see them.

The date is getting closer, shocked it hasn't imploded yet!!

I'm done paying for geezer Rock reunions, the last two left a bad taste in my mouth.

I saw Van Halen with DLR in the early 80's AWESOME
Saw VH again in the mid 90's (with Hagar) and it was awful, nothing to do with Hagar...

EVH was such a hopeless drunk at this point, his playing was sloppy and incoherent, at one point he played two full songs a half-step out of key, because he refused repeated attempts by a roadie trying to hand him the properly tuned guitar for the set list.

Saw Queensryche several times in the early 90's... Tried to revisit my past in 2010 or 2011 and it was horrifying. Geoff Tate seemed to have lost half his vocal range, and the band was phoning it in.

I think I'll remember GnR as I last saw them in 87 or 88.

I've heard nothing but bad things about Axl Rose regarding every project he's done since...
I'll just assume it will be a trainwreck.

He is.

And Brian Johnson has made it public, that he still wants to be in the studio for new material, he just can't tour anymore.

I'll wait and see before being too critical.... But all the recent Axl Rose stuff I can find on youtube, is followed by dozens of people comparing him to Mickey Mouse vocally.... And I can't find a argument in his favor.

Some people have a vocal range... that can carry them to their 60's and beyond (Mick Jagger and Steven Tyler come to mind)

Others hit their late 30's early 40's and completely fall flat (Don Dokken, Geoff Tate come to mind in this regard)

I'll withhold judgement until I see Axl with AC/DC... But his latest offerings tell me he can't do it.

There has to be literally thousands of singers who could pull off Bon Scott/ Brian Johnson... They wanted a big name on the headline, and got it.

But Axl sounds like crap well rested (IMO) ... I can't imagine how he'll sound bouncing between his GNR commitment AND AC/DC.

Angus joined GnR onstage and they played "Whole Lotta Rosie". I thought Axl sounded surprisingly good singing AC/DC. Better than he sounds singing many of the GnR songs now.

There are a few AC/DC youtube videos up... I'm surprised actually at how well he's doing.

His recent GNR vocal work is horrible... But he's doing ok with AC/DC.

Not great IMO...

But much better than I expected.

Great they are back together but Its annoying how musicians make everything so dramatic.

You fly out to whatever venue, step on stage and play songs for an hour, then go home. Theres no struggle there. Its a hair more difficult than getting a crew together to play pickup ball in the park.

Took 20 years because Axl and slash are sooooooooooooo busy right. Ugh. Nobody cares about your trash side projects

A lot of my friends went to the concert the other night and they all said the same thing - Guns and Roses played for nearly 3 hours.

I know, my point was its not some back breaking endeavor that takes 20 years to find time for.

Pride and ego are very difficult obstacles to overcome. And, when you have the kind of money these guys have, you can afford letting your pride get the best of you. Well, for Guns and Roses it was 20 years. They put their differences aside, and they will make more money on this tour than they will on their solo projects for the rest of their lives. They are getting 3 million dollars per show on this tour.

Or, they could be like Led Zeppelin. They turned down 14 million dollars to headline Desert Trip in Indio in October.

I met Steve Adler Last June. He came into my work and didn't recognize him at first. (I work at a truckstop) he was playing in StlL with some hair bands.

I talked with him and he is a really nice guy. Of course you don't know me but I'm a big guy with tats all over. I looked at him and came up to him , he says "you ain't going to bet me up are ya?" I laughed and he said he has his own band "Adler" I didnt bother him too much and talked for about ten minutes. Super nice guy fellas I'll post a pic maybe.

Now Steve isn't with the band just My 2 cents
