Now that their season is done and he's still on the roster makes me think Jurrah was serious about wanting to extend him. The Cowboys honestly need to shut down Romo and Dez and go full tank mode.

pretty much..interestingly enough the last time romo broke his collarbone they did that because their season was over and he wasn't 100% by the time they needed him anyway. I don't see the point of messing up his career to try to get this team to 8-8 which is likely the best case scenario and even that is pushing it big time. hardy needs to go. I never wanted him there and don't see the point of having him. they didn't need him. he's not Charles haley I don't know why jerry keeps trying to do that. he's just imploding his locker room every 2 seasons or so. that's what he does best is sink a ship.

Adam Schefter's puff piece softball interview

Pathetic. Michelle Beadle ripped his smarmy butt.

Count ESPN's Michelle Beadle among those unhappy with her network after it released a sit-down interview with NFL free agent Greg Hardy in which he denied hitting an ex-girlfriend who accused him of assault.

Clips from the interview with ESPN's Adam Schefter prompted broad and immediate criticism. Some highlighted Hardy's seeming lack of remorse, others questioned why ESPN chose Schefter to conduct the interview and nearly everyone wondered what the piece aimed to accomplish.

Beadle addressed the controversy Tuesday on her SportsNation program, saying she feels "dirty" that ESPN gave Hardy a platform (via Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk):...

I personally don't care even if she was looking for money or celebrity. It doesn't change the fact he beat the hell out of her. At the end of the day, he put his hands on her. He did so in a way that went way beyond pushing her off for self defense.

The dude is scum. At what point are we going to wake up and stop putting celebrity and football above basic human decency? Playing in the NFL is not a right but a privilege. Dude got off way too light. He should never play another down in the NFL.

Schefter is the guy for this and it isn't his fault. Schefter is an NFL insider, not a professional reporter. Blame ESPN for not putting a true journalist on this.

Schefter has a grad degree in journalism from Northwestern and was a hard-news reporter before moving over to sports.

OK, so in the last 10 years of his career he hasn't done what ESPN asked him to do. If Sheftner wanted to to grill people for a living, he wouldn't have transitioned to being an insider, he would have stuck to the outside the lines type sports reporting.

If he has the education and experience, I don't see the issue. Pretty much most ESPN personalities have done interviews along with their primary responsibilities.

He hasn't been with ESPN for 10 years, but I see where you're going. IMO, he dropped his jock for a paycheck when he left NFL Network...His "Insider" credentials were his friendships with the Broncos front office.

Let's take this a step further. If I'm Hardy, I'm not going to agree to anything but a puff piece interview. I have to deflect all the bad stuff I do so that someone shells out millions of dollars to put me on a roster. So I'm not agreeing to be interviewed by any hard hitting reporter, (no pun intended) and definitely not a woman. This was PR, plain and simple. So who do you try to set up an interview with when you want a puff piece? A guy that's a football analyst and insider. A guy that's willing to trade this kind of junk to have access to the real juicy football nuggets that the audience loves. Hardy's agent and him probably have some kind of share deal based on this, where the agent will drop some information at some point to repay Shefter.

ESPN had two options. Do the interview with Shefter (probably the only person that Hardy's agent would approve) or not do the interview.

They probably should have chosen to not do the interview based on blowback.
