Im trying to think of comparisons....undersized, skinny pure shooter. No explosiveness. Doesnt drive to the basket.

Salim Stoudmire? Eddie House?

Can anyone give a better example?

I heard someone mention KJ...as if this guy has the speed or penetration ability of a Kevin Johnson.

Stoudamire and House are valid comparisons? First of all neither has the PG qualities and both are considerably smaller.

Curry is a better version of Barbosa.

Arenas is another player in that mold who "made it".

If we start Barbosa and Curry on a rebuilding young team next year I can see both of them averaging about 22/4/4.

Yeah... and he won two MVPs playing for the Phoenix Suns. Good court vision, not a great athlete, similiar body types, and lights out shooters.

I dont see a lot of resemblance to agent zero. Arenas is much bigger and can drive into the paint.

i tried to tell him curry was nothing like eddie house...or salim stoudemire now that he mentions it. IMO curry's basketball IQ and shooting are far to good to keep him from being at LEAST a serviceable 6th man

Dude do a little research before you run your mouth. He is a lot better ball handler, passer and play maker then he was give credit for at Davidson. He also is a hard worker. He has a better feel for the game then just pure scorers like House and Salim.

I think he will end up being good. It just might take a couple years.

If this guy puts up big offensive numbers he will make it somewhere. In fact, as long as it's with a team that doesn't care about defense he will probably be fine.

Wait....I just described the Suns didn't I? ;)

:mulli:

I think we have the best example on our current team of a guy who made it. Not only did he make it, but he's an All-star and an MVP.

He just compared Stephen Curry who just started playing PG his junior year of college to Steve Freakin Nash.

How much Hockey and Soccer experience does Curry have?

lets be honest. you would have made the same post about steve nash 13 years ago too.

No...Nash was billed as the next John Stockton. A pure point guard for the future. Not some undersized shooter who had no chance of making it big in the NBA.

He reminds me of a shorter Reggie Miller. Obviously about 5 inches shorter. Very frail looking build, a HUGE heart, can hit the big shots, range outta the gym. Too bad he wasn't a few inches taller...

Reggie Miller...came into the league with the label of being too thin, weak and slow to compete. He had to listen to critics suggest that his sister was a better player. Like Reggie, Curry's feel for the game, bball IQ, quick release and competitiveness (all intangibles that are hard to measure with a tape or stop watch) will make him a very good NBA player.

Mahmoud Abdul Rauf (aka) I believe.

Played for the Nuggets and Kings, maybe some others. Was the PG at LSU when Shaq was there.

Yep, I think Curry is a Abdul Rauf clone. Pretty much same college stats/games and similar picks.

Nash got booed when the Suns picked him. WTF are you talking about?
