The only position this franchise has ever really been able to get right is WR. It's been the strength of the team every single year for as long as I can remember (barring the Kasper-McAddley era. Even our UDFA WRs often go on to play for a while if we cut them (see Stephen Williams in SEA.)
Dear football gods... I'll trade a the next couple of good WRs, who seem to just fall off the bus into our laps, for a respectable LT. Note, "respectable", not "great". Is that too much to ask?
That has to be the strangest thing in the history of the NFL. A franchise that has decades of failed personnel decisions somehow manages to come up with great Wide Receivers. I've been following that for 4 decades and still can't figure out how they can strike out on every other position and constantly hit HRs with WR.
Heck they had so many outstanding WRS they could afford to let the franchise leader in single season receiving yards and later the 2003 NFL rookie of the year go play somewhere el ........ oh wait never mind.
