At least we found Ryan Williams. Unfortunately, he was stinking drunk in the fetal position weeping and complaining about being "probed." 1.3 YPC, 0 TDs, 2 fumbles. So glad we spent a high second round pick on this guy.

Yeah, no matter how skilled he is a rookie in experience and is showing it.

Just like Housler saved a TD last week. He had a huge key catch on a TD drive this week. I'll take it!

Sheeesh K9. Give it a rest. We won. Enjoy it for a little while before you start dissecting everything.

I saw Housler a little bit, but I think game planning Heap across the middle was much better than using Housler anywhere. Do those other guys play for the Cards?

You better not report a single post on this k9. You invite criticism with posts like this

I'm with you, Shane! Also they are freakin' back-ups, except Schofield, who was on the injury list.

Being negative about guys that are hardly on the field because someone else is playing better than them strikes me as being small. :trout:

I try to stay balanced with my analysis after games, but not this time. We just beat the Patriots. On the road. In their home opener. And our defense is evolving into one of the best in the league. I'm sure I'll be more critical in the coming days. Right now, I'm just enjoying a HUGE win for the 2-0 Cardinals!

Of course he is. As usual nothing but negative following a Biggs win.

You're right, Shane. Maybe I should wait 12 hours and start whining about the single most dominant player in the game. That sounds like a good idea.

It's a great win. No question about it. I'm thrilled, but I'm not surprised. I've been on record as predicting a Cards win for almost a week.

What makes it even more remarkable is that we won on the road, against the defending AFC Champions, in their home opener, with a 10:15 kickoff, without meaningful contribution from our 2012 first-round pick, our 2011 third-round pick, our 2011 second-round pick, our 2011 premier defensive free agent signing, and our starting ROLB.

Can you imagine how dominant we'd be if these guys showed up once in a while?

I was wrong about Quentin Groves, though. Don't know what happened in finally finding a role in the Cards defense, or being put in a position to succeed, or just not having to be The Man, but he's been a great contributor. He could still take Schofield's job--and I say that as a huge Schofield fan since we drafted him.

Can we have like a "Trashy Tuesday" rule or something? No trashing the team or any of the players/coaches after a win until the following Tuesday. Between THESMEL damn near ruining the game thread and this, it really does take a toll.

Not saying K9's observations aren't worthy of discussion, but we have a whole week to discuss - don't see why we need it an hour after the game.

I'll also add here that I was wrong-ish about Kevin Kolb. He is capable at playing at a Matt Cassel level. My fear now is that he'll continue to play like this, and we'll be looking at having to pay $9 million next year with a $15 million cap charge for a guy who is going to put up an 85 QB rating on the year.

It'll be interesting to see what happens if Kolb finds ways to win/not lose while Fitz gets ignored in the offense.

Ignored? Every screen shot all day showed Fitz doubled and bracketed all day. Better than to force it IMO and get an int. it's good to see we can win without him going off.

Plus I'm glad I made jersey spend 40.00 for that king of production :D

Seriously K9. Just do us a favor and stay away from the board until 24 hours after a game.

These threads are ridiculous

Well said. That's how I feel. I haven't even begun trying to break the game down or analyze the Oline or anything else yet. My mind isn't even into it because my heart has a lot of pride for our team right now.

We had everything going against us. Ask every other team and they'll tell you beating the Patriots--no matter how it happens--is freaking hard. They're one of the toughest teams anyone can face during the season and we beat them. We beat them on their field, in front of their fans. Extremely proud of our guys right now.

How many plays is Floyd even in there? He's our #4 WR and we're not in 4 wide out sets nearly as much as we used to be.

Housler is our 3rd TE. He's lucky he even got a catch. Normal teams don't even play their 3rd TE in normal situations.

Scho and Bradley do need to step it up.

But seriously, doesn't matter where a guy was drafted if he's barried on the depth chart he's not going to show up much on the stat sheet. If they were actually getting a significant amount of playing time, they'd be worth complaining about.

To me that is exactly the point. Like I said for months, you don't spend that high of a 1st round pick on a guy who you are going to "bring" along to be your 2nd or 3rd WR. We needed help in so many ways and there were so many better choices to give us immediate starting help.

But, we have to live with it now. Go Cards.....Great D, you all deserve 12 games balls.

That works when you're in win now mode. We weren't contending for the SB this year. You don't reach for guys to help you this year when you realistically don't see yourself winning a SB. You build for the future until the future is now. That point doesn't come until you've found your QB.

I've seen Cardinal fans complaining for decades about us letting players leave without having their replacements on the roster. That's what happens when you reach for talent to win now instead of finding value when you can.
