it would just be ridiculous to see 66 and 67 win teams bow out in the first round in back to back years.

I'll go on record as saying that if the Celtics lose, I will officially watch cheesebeef's YouTube videos again, which is the most juvenile and disgusting dare I'm willing to accept at the moment.

Are the lower Eastern Teams underrated or are the Celtics and Pistons overrated?

good question,i also think it has a lot to do with those teams with play off hunger, they seem much more motivated, include new orleans to the list.

Why would perkins get suspended?

He didn't leave the bench area. He was behind his coach.

ESPN just reported that Williams was also off the bench when it was going on.

Floor vs. bench area is gray, especially at the short threes.

Doubt VERY seriously that he'd get suspended. That's what, one step? Amare was all the way past the scorers table, and on the court.

It is what it is.

They have plenty of cameras there with much better views...if they left "the area of the bench" then kick them all the ef out.

They are dirty celts anyway.

This is not a "judgment call". Stepping onto the floor during an altercation is punishable by death (well sort of). No mitigating circumstance, no excuses, no time lines, etc. After six months of being told over and over that there is absolutely no excuse, it is a bit late to suggest that there SHOULD be some common sense applied.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the issue is not "stepping on the floor" but instead "leaving the bench area" which is the crux of the problem. If it were "stepping on the floor" it would be cut and dry, and thus non-arguable. However, there is an ambiguous "bench area" terminology thrown in there that is bs, IMO.

According to David "Spin" Stern, undefined, ambiguous terms like "altercation" and "bench area" are, in fact, not ambiguous. What the specific definitions of these terms are, only Stern knows for sure.

huh? He broke his face, couldn't see out of an eye and still only missed 6 games. Him coming back at all showed how much heart he had, not to mention the fact that it's a lot easier to play on a bum calf the season after you've just landed a huge contract as opposed to JJ who hadn't gotten jack yet.

I heard or read an interview with JJ after the fact and he mentioned that he didn't want to come back at that time, but the team rushed him. He was not playing entirely of his own volition. He also left the top-ranked (at the time) Suns to go to the bottom dwelling Hawks, thus, if the heart equation involves desire to win a championship, he loses a point there as well.

If heart just refers to clutch play, then none of the above really matters.

You're right, there definitely was issues with jj wanting to take his time coming back from the injury. I even remember a mini-controversy starting as it seemed b.c./d'antoni were kind of pushing him to come back earlier in s.a. series and he didn't want to.

I'm not sure how that plays into heart or not, but I think you're right here and cheese is forgetting the mini-controversy stemming from the injury.

And JJ only scored 15. If the celtics keep playing like crap and with detroit being so inconsistent, it'll be interesting to see who comes out of the east

I knew we had a thread for this, I just couldn't find it. :p

I am shocked and impressed by the heart that Hawks have shown. Sunday's game is huge for them, they have a chance to pull off the greatest upset in NBA history.

You have to imagine that right now, the Hawks are probably feeling like they could go all the way. I honestly thought this series would suck and be 4 straight Boston blow outs, but instead it's been the best series so far.

GO HAWKS!
