You're right, there definitely was issues with jj wanting to take his time coming back from the injury. I even remember a mini-controversy starting as it seemed b.c./d'antoni were kind of pushing him to come back earlier in s.a. series and he didn't want to.

I'm not sure how that plays into heart or not, but I think you're right here and cheese is forgetting the mini-controversy stemming from the injury.

you know what I remember. I remember Gregg Popovitch holding Tim Duncan out of the playoffs and putting absolutely ZERO pressure on him to come back the year we played them in 2000 because he was eligible to become a FA and the Spurs had the foresight to a) realize not everything was about that year and b) that you don't question one of your best players health and the future of your franchise right before they're about to test the waters of FA (not to mention that we already lowballed JJ a summer earlier, not giving him a contract which meant he HAD to think only about himself).

And JJ only scored 15. If the celtics keep playing like crap and with detroit being so inconsistent, it'll be interesting to see who comes out of the east

but he scored 8 in the fourth, coming up huge in the last two minutes with a crushing 3 to take the lead from 2 to 5 and then hit clutch FTs.

i rooted all year for the Hawks to suck, but I gotta tell you, I'll die laughing if they beat the Celtics giving a huge crap burger to David Stern who tried his hardest to get the C's through this series by not suspending anyone who clearly deserved to be suspended.

golden state beating mavs or atlanta eliminating celtics would be bigger upset?

Atlanta would be a bigger upset IMO. Golden State played Dallas well all season, and some people were saying before the playoffs that GS was the absolute last team that the Mavs wanted to see in round 1.

No one thought Atlanta had any shot at all against the Celtics, the Celtics are supposed to be the best overall team in basketball, and the Hawks looked to have no chance.

Of course it's all moot, if Atlanta can't find a way to win in boston. So far they have been blown out every time on the Celtics home floor.

Can we finally put to rest the Garnett is a great player argument? Where was he the last 8 minutes of the game? Disappeared. Much more bark than bite.

There is just no way I could give the proper kudos to the hawks at this point, reaching that deep down and playing that much over what we thought was their potential. It is just amazing.

The celtics should be ashamed of themselves though, it isn't all just the hawks playing great, more like a combo of that and the celtics choking royally.

Atlanta deserves the win at this point, no way do I want to celtics to win since they let an 8th seed take them to game 7. Pathetic.

Imagine if we had marion and KT right now. If the C's lose this series we dangle Marion (expiring this or next year), KT (expiring this year), Our 2008 pick, our 2010 pick, and the atlanta 15 pick for KG.

After such an upsetting loss they would maybe do it.

Why is it that as a Laker fan, I'm more afraid of this team in the regular season than I am in the playoffs? This same Celtics team happened to have one of the best road records in the league and now they can't even seem to buy themselves a win in Atlanta. If they keep this up (should they make it past the Hawks, which they probably will), then I'd be just a little bit concerned about that if I were a Celtics fan.

did anyone see ray allen curl off a pick twice in the last 30 seconds for game-tying threes only to see rookie PF Horford right up on him, having switched and forcing him to take a bad contested shot? how does a rookie know to make that play and amare just stands still, in no man's land growing roots in the same scenario? that disgusts me.

You wanna know who gets way more credit for being a superstar than he deserves?? KG, he passed up so many easy looks in the 4th and had a number of turnovers. He doesn't even look to try and be the man in the 4th. Never has never will.

Yeah but Amare is "the man". He scores 25 point per night so he doesn't have to play D.

Horford is a stud. I'd say it's 50-50 that he'll prove to be a better pro than Oden.

is this based on the fact that you've never seen Oden play or because of his knees?

Sure, partly. Wouldn't you allow for the possibility, based on early evidence, that his body won't be able to withstand NBA pressure? The guy hasn't been healthy in years and he hasn't even touched a professional court yet.

But mainly, I've maintained from the beginning that Oden is massively overhyped. I may be wrong, certainly, but I'd call it about a coin flip.

back on topic somewhat for this boring series...

KG, during his last game. pumped up and talking mad sheet.????

i dont get it. why's he acting like that? its just the hawks. oh, KG makes this team go, KG this, KG that. wait til the guy actually plays a real playoff team. i just thought all that was unnecessary last night.
so much for not boring.lol hawks making this the best series so far.
the worst team(record wise) in the playoffs tied up with the "big3".

so wheres KG now? no chest pounding?
did pierce pay up his 10g's?

odds are that they'll win at home. so when you take in consideration the team with the best record, who have 29 more wins than the hawks, is being pushed to a 7game series - just sorry.

that sentence makes no sense at all.
