I am willing to give Triano consideration. After listening to him, watching the team respond last night, and know what Steve Nash thinks of him as a coach, it’s worth at least a look.

I am a bit skeptical about hiring the assistant again. But Triano does have head coaching experience, which is different from Watson and Horny.

I vote no unless he shocks us this year. It was as his offense the team has been running and upon which criticism has been heaped.

LOL. I understand the excitement of finally winning a game and with a new coach but pump the brakes. Its one game and as I said Watson won his first game also after the team team played with renewed energy. The same thing happened to the Cards when AP played his first game with them. Some on AZ central is already calling for a 4 yr contract for Triano. lol. Triano did literally nothing in one hour before the game other than a walk through. He did have better rotations and benefited from no black hole in Bledsoe but any high school coach with a brain could have had coached better than watson. Lets see how the team continues to respond for the rest of the season before announcing him the new HC.

It may have been his offense, but Watson was setting the lineup. The team looked fairly competent last night, with Tariano switching the lineup around, to better suit his offense and playing people at their strengths.

I want a long thorough HC search at seasons end. In fact, start interviewing before seasons end. And dont be cheap McD!

Look, I like Majerle, but I can't figure out why he is a favorite amongst so many people here and on other message boards. How much more experience does he have, then say, Jeff Hornacek? Other than being the head coach of a non-consequential WAC school?

Good grief. Do you get the idea of this thread? Its for continuing evaluation. There is no need to pump the brakes and this is not about excitement over one win. Its about evaluating a former assistant that no one really even knows about much.

He will have an entire season with the temporary label. There will be plenty of time to evaluate. Saying "no" now is as short-sighted as saying "yes" now.

I still probably prefer Messina. But since we are here, we should give Triano a fair look.

Ouchie says he has to blow us away. Ok. I guess that is OK. But would other coaching candidates have to blow us away? The next hire will be hugely important. Its more important to us than McD. For McD, its his last coaching hire, most likely.

Again, I understand the excitement. But its almost deja vu with the posts I read after watsons inaugural first game win. Pretty much identical. lol. I agree he should be evaluated and if he does a bang up job this season?, then maybe he can make the list.

This post would have been fine without the bold.

Honestly, its pretty condescending. "lol" I am not sure was "excitement" in my original post. Its like you did not even read it.

What do you think all NBA players are? You usually dont get drafted unless your best of the best. Unless your 7ft tall (len). I hope McD brings in Pitino for an interview. The guy always had a winning program in college teaching the game of Xs & Os to mold them into winners. Who better to continue that with our young team?

Yeah, I realize NBA players are the best of the best but the entire league has them. During a typical college game Rick Pitino had future NBA players going against nobodies, when Pitino came to the NBA didn't have the stacked deck he did in college he fell flat on his face.

He motivated talented kids to join his college by bribing them with money, hookers and drugs. THAT is his college legacy. He is not some brilliant basketball mind, as evidence by his complete failure as a pro coach.

Ohhh to be 18 again!!!:D He is top 5 all time winningest NCAA coach. Maybe his next stop in the NBA might turn out different? Whose to say?

History? I just don't see any reason to suspect he will succeed in the NBA. He has been there and failed, twice, and he will be absent his tools for the success he had in college.

Gang, let’s also note we played the kings. They suck too.

Uh, YEAH! Damn straight they should blow us, and McD away. NBA head coaching gigs don’t grow in trees. If we are hiring someone it should be someone that blows them away. The Suns are still a professional team. These jobs are coveted. You want the suns to settle for meh?

The Suns started on a good note, without having had the chance to practice, overcoming the image of the worst start in NBA history and replacing the Head Coach and supposed starting Point Guard.

Of course we're not going to zoom to the top. There is a lot of work to be done. But the doom-and-gloom has been reversed. That's the important thing.

C'mon, can't you do any better than "They suck, too.":suns::thumbup:

Hey I already said I was stoked for a w to get some better mojo around team. How much happiness do you expect from the Tank Commander with a w?

I was afraid we were headed to an 0 and double digit start to the season with an all-time worst starting record in view and every game a huge monkey on our backs.

Getting this win took a huge amount of pressure off.

Wars are always won on the ground.
What is the last war that the U.S. won? It wasn't Korea (which is still in a state of 'truce'). Or Viet Nam (peace with honor). Or Iraq. Or Afghanistan.

It was our involvement in WWII and that was 72 years ago. And it could be that the next one will be coming through the air with the two "hairdo's" taking their macho game too far.

Back to the NBA, a lot of the action takes place in the air. Jump shots, stuffs, rebounds, blocks.

I would rather see the Suns emulate a sleek jet racing through the air than a plodding tank, to use that metaphor.

How many winning seasons have the Suns had in the last eight years? The answer is "1". How many more years are the TANK commanders going to encourage losing? 'Hoping that we luck out in a draft.

Seriously! It is not serving the community. It is not serving the fans. And it's not doing a helluva lot for the players, either. It is time for a professional approach.

I have wanted to see Bledsoe gone, as well as Knight, because as Point Guards, they have not made the rest of the team better. But benching our "star" veteran was obviously poor strategy when trying to trade him a season later. It is amateur! It is time for the Suns to advance beyond the archaic strategy of 'ground wars', which have brought our country and the Suns no victories.

And, with a change in most of our coaches, this is a golden time to move on.

A. You realize all the wars we lost were won by the other side on the ground bc they didn’t possess our superiority in the air.

B. We have officially tanked one season and it brought us JJ. or would you rather give him back?
