Broncos did lose 3 oline starters last year & oline actually improved. That's a minor miracle in itself

He also coached Jared Veldheer, who is a free agent.

Here are all the Bronco FA OL:

Billy Turner is another interesting player to consider.

Paradis and Garcia are two nasty interior blockers. They have some violent edge edge to them. Both are quite injury prone though.

We will what happens with Kugler.

You should not give benefit of doubt to this front office after the OL performance the last few years and Ray Brown failure last season.

I just don’t get why such a highly touted OLINE coach like Brown failed and how this guy is any different.

(Ray Brown) Maybe because he only had 2 years as the real OL coach before the Cardinals?

KK won't pass the Cards to death just because he's a coach out of the Air Raid tree. In fact among all Air Raid coaches, he is one of the more run-heavy guys. He understandably aired it out with Mahomes quite a bit, but the last couple of years he had a balanced offense with good rushing totals. Ultimately KK strikes me as a guy who will use his best playmakers early and often, rather than getting cute.

Deandre Washington is the best RB KK had at Texas Tech. In 2015, as a senior, he rushed for 1,492 yards and 14 TDs. Throwing in receiving yards, he was 1,877 all-purpose yards and 16 total TDs. Would anyone not sign up for those numbers for DJ next year?

I don’t think an OL coach needs to have game plan input or needs to have experience with the Air Raid. He is an experienced and well respected OL coach, he also has previous experience as a college head coach which likely gives him “big picture” experience.
OL coaches generally help install the run game each week.

Loosely, one hires a physicist, biologist, engineer, doctor etc to put together a team for space travel. Are Cardinals following same pattern for their staff?

They are hiring the brightest available guys. Will they fit the scheme that will be run?

I am so confounded by their methods and actions this off season; I don't know if Steve Keim is a genius or a halfwit.

Another highly respected hire with a bunch of experience. Been a RB coach since 2000 coached some good players too, I wonder what caused the Steelers to let him go? Was he a vocal supporter of Leveon Bell or something?

A former NFL player and coaching lifer, Saxon was reportedly well respected by Pittsburgh's players. On Tuesday morning, NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala reported that everyone she's talked to within the NFL regarding Saxon's firing (which includes Steelers' players) are "dumbfounded...and mad"with Tomlin's decision not to keep Saxon on his staff.

The decision to part with Saxon is a questionable one given Pittsburgh's success at the running back position during Saxon's time with the team. After averaging just 3.5 yards per carry the season before Saxon joined the Steelers' coaching staff,Le'Veon Bellearned his first Pro Bowl selection while rushing for 1,361 yards (and averaging 4.7 yards per carry) while also catching 83 passes for 854 yards during his first season with Saxon.

Before coming to Pittsburgh, Saxon worked with All-Pro running backs Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson in Kansas City. Holmes earned All-Pro honors during each of his first three seasons with Saxon that included winning the NFL rushing title in 2001 while leading the league in rushing touchdowns in 2002 and 2003. Johnson averaged 1,770 rushing yards during the 2005 and 2006 seasons while scoring a 37 rushing touchdowns over that span.

I was just reading a little more about Kugler, his son was a teammate of Mason Cole at Michigan. In fact he was the Center while Cole finished his career there as a Tackle. Currently he is a graduate assistant at Michigan. Just thought it was interesting. Probably no relevance to anything else.

Yeah.. and keep in mind how much it cost to make all the old guys go away too!
Paying a guy like Denny Green is one thing after firing the coach knowing he made a difference and paying those 2018 coaches like McCoy, Wilks etc. That hurts even for a billionaires.

Actually, that does not hurt a billionaire one bit unless you do not know the value of what a billion dollars is... but it can hurt their pride :)

In today’s nfl you need to run the ball when you NEED to run the ball. Old school, run the ball to set up the pass . New school, throw the ball to set up the run. Gurley is a stud but he too benefits when opposing defenses have to worry about Cook, Woods, Kupp, jet sweeps and everything else. We tried to be a smash mouth straight ahead running team. That simply doesn’t work. We need to mix smash mouth with traps, zone, screens and draws....and this year we will.
Hope so - plus we don’t have the shiny receivers we once had - that every playcaller could not help but press high risk Options - instead of earning wins the hard way.

The more I read about Saxon the more I believe we got a steal no matter what we paid.

Absolutely. Plenty of Steeler fans here in York, PA, and they are livid about this decision. Mostly, they are fed up with Tomlin, and would like to see him fired. Everyone knows the history of HC longevity in Pittsburgh, so Tomlin is safe for at least another year. People forget that Bill Cowher had a 3 year stretch from 1998-2000 when the Steelers didn't qualify for the playoffs. He also had a couple of ugly 6-10 seasons. Like Tomlin, he won a SB, but not without a ton of help from the zebras against Seattle. As we're all well aware, the Tomlin led SB win against us was also greatly affected by their zebra friends.
