This has been going around for hours. It is based upon a "gut" feeling from an unnamed source based upon supposed discussions from before PM's visit to Denver. Unless something new has happened.

Perhaps he is trying to court the swing state of Colorado for when he announces that he is running for president.

Its what I just heard on Sirius during their 2:00 drill. Don't know how "fresh" it is, but it's the first time I heard it all day.

No one wants to admit we have a real shot. Headlines include an unsourced gut feeling toward Denver. Another headline says we're getting our chance to woo him before he goes to talk with the Dolphins. No mention that he hasn't set up a meeting with Miami, it is just assumed he will. The media just can't wrap their minds around someone choosing AZ any other franchise, apparently.

how could he be leaning somewhere when he is still in meetings in AZ?

this is all so entertaining to watch. everyone wants to be the first to be right.

And we are left analyzing PM holding his own bag, and the musings of "insiders" that are just guessing what is going on based upon common assumptions.

I think it just comes down to the respect Denver gets vs. the lack of respect Arizona does. Both have been earned (I'm not complaining) although occasionally I do feel that the Broncos are overrated as a franchise historically.

In any case, a lot of it will depend on how Manning feels about Elway. It's not even the legacy that he'd be competing with--I'm sure he's secure enough with his place in history to deal with that--but the fact he will literally be dealing with Elway on a daily basis.

According to my cousin in Ft Collins, it's a sure thing he signs with the Broncos. He's been texting me incessantly with updates. Does that count?:)

We don't know all the twists in this thing, but on paper, I 'd be nervous abou ownership who ditched Cutler for Orton and then Orton for Tebow only to push Tebow aside to make room for Peyton.

How secure would you be with a management that does this?

Note - the Kolb situation is a bit different due to the concussion and limited time on the field issues.

This is somehow different the pitiful parade the Cards have had? Warner, Leinart, Warner, Leinart, Anderson, Hall, Anderson, Skelton, Kolb, Skelton, Bartel, Skelton????

My buddy, who is a Vikings fan, is saying the same thing. It MUST be true!

I heard from my source at Filiberto's that Manning is leaning toward Arizona because of the Mexican food.

If that were true, he'd be coming to play for the Lobos... Arizona doesn't even know what Mexican food is..:D

This was being moved by Adam Sheffter who happens to be the former "beat" reporter for Denver Broncos. Adam has been behind on this story since day one, and only in the last few days has he been willing to concede that the Cards are even in the game.

Schefter's source is probably coming from the Broncos.

ESPN has updated the article to include the Cards... inside team sources say this won't be Joe Montana all over again.
