Ayton got a block!
It's not just Holmes. He's done it to Bridges and Ayton too.
That’s interesting because it’s the opposite of what he displayed last year. I recall being impressed by, and commenting on, JJ’s ability to score through contact. It seems to be Jackson often extends too much when he goes inside for a basket. I'm not sure if he feels he has a better chance of making it this way or he tries to avoid contact. However, it often ends up with his shot being rejected at the rim.

It looks like no Evans or King tonight.
I get why they didn't play, they are G-Leaguers after all. On Two-Way deals their time is limited. Last year Triano seemed to use the Two-Way players much better. When they were up they played. If they aren't playing then there is little reason to call them up. It would have made more sense to play Evans since we need help at PG. King on the other hand is a tweener type forward, more of a SF though, so him being called up didn't make a ton of sense with Ariza available tonight in addition to Jackson and Bridges.
And the question remains . . . was that his decision . . . or his Coach wanting him to stay in the game?Ayton now has a total of 1 offensive foul and 1 defensive foul
manning the middle
over the course of 3 straight blowout games
no adjustments

We may never know.
How can you blame the coach and not Ayton at this point? Either he listens and follows Igor's direction to a T every game or it's his temperament that has kept him from doing more. You really believe a 7'1" 20 year old rookie has that much discipline to manage to avoid fouls and blocks like that because his coach told him to? I know you've been critical of Igor in other aspects so if you truly believe that is the case I would be shocked.
it's not either or. Ayton is soft and Igor is soft. bad combination.
one of them is supposed to be teaching and motivating the other
i don't think anyone is not holding Ayton blameless for his lack of aggression
we just expect the coach to do something about it
no adjustments in 3 blowouts
So Ayton isn't a physical banger down low now you need to adjust and put someone next to him who is.
KAT is in the same mold kind of. Great offensive talent but not really physical
I say stop trying match up with teams and play Holmes with Ayton. Hell give it a try can't get any worse right. Go to a more traditional line up
Holmes
Ayton
Warren
Bridges
Booker
We have all these wings that were supposed to be able to shoot well guess what they can't. So let's go back to a more "traditional" line up and just see how it plays out.
Come on Igor try making adjustments.
