draft pick and someone like casey for nene. so far nene hasnt really light up the world in denver. if you were to match up amare and nene on the frontline you are talking about one of the best young front courts in the nba.

No.

Nene is soft and lazy.

You want Nene but you are the first one to dismiss any chance of getting Kwame Brown, Tyson Chander or Eddy Curry in a similiar or even better trade. Funny.

kwane brown has had 3 year to try to be the man in washington with them wanting him to be the man. he hasnt come throught yet.

chandler and amare wouldnt get along to begin with. on top that chandler maybe 7 ft tall but he is in no way a center. he is much more set to be a power forward then a center.

curry has been injury prone since he has been in the nba but if we could get him for something like clevelands pick then yes sure i would go for him.

amare is our power forward so unless the person can play most of their time at center they are in for a very long time on the bench. and that is why nene would be a good match. everyone in the denver press says that he has good work ethic. he passes well and blocks shoots plus he has the size to be a center at 6'11" and 260 that none of the others beside curry has. curry's history of injuries drops his value a great deal.

but you know slin it is funny you say that nene is soft and lazy but he is doing almost the same stats that kwame does.

Your comments are ridiculous. All of them

but you know slin it is funny you say that nene is soft and lazy but he is doing almost the same stats that kwame does

Dirk Nowitzki had and has similiar stats as Kevin Garnett in the past so he can't be soft because Garnett isn't? Great logic.

chandler and amare wouldnt get along to begin with. on top that chandler maybe 7 ft tall but he is in no way a center. he is much more set to be a power forward then a center.

Chandler MAY be 7ft? LMAO ! He is 7'2!!!! And he wouldn't get along with Amare because of a media rivalry in Amare's rookie year? Are you still in kindergarten?

curry has been injury prone since he has been in the nba but if we could get him for something like clevelands pick then yes sure i would go for him.
Curry is injury prone ever since he is in the league?? Oh come on now.
1st year our of highschool - 72 games
2nd year - 81 games
3rd year - 69 games and counting

INJURY PRONE especially since a lot of those games missed were probably coaching decisions and others were personal reasons.

And for Cleveland's pick? Man I should have stopped reading your posts.

kwane brown has had 3 year to try to be the man in washington with them wanting him to be the man. he hasnt come throught yet.

Washington wanted Kwame Brown to be the man? LOL
Washington brought back Michael Jordan, they crushed Kwame right from the start.

On top of it Nene is older than Curry, Chandler and Kwame.

OMG

Once AGAIN. Curry never had any injury problems.

Curry, Kwame and Chandler are ALL taller than Nene. Chandler is a lot taller. Curry and Kwame are definately stronger and tougher.

Nene measured in at barely over 6'10.

Curry measured in at 6'11 1/2. Kwame Brown is a legit 7' and one of the strongest players in the league. Chandler is 7'2.

I'd rather not have any of them. But if I had to pick, I'd probably pick Nene. But I'm certainly not in favor of acquiring him.

What's funny is that you say Nene is soft and lazy, and then you talk about Kwame Brown , Tyson Chandler, or Eddy Curry. Those guys are all just as soft and probably more lazy than Nene. Also, only maybe Brown is better physically than Nene, and that's debatable. He also has a year more on his rookie contract than those other guys.

It doesn't really matter anyways because Denver is not going to trade him for that deal. In fact I doubt there is anybody other than Amare Stoudemire on this roster that would get him over here.

You would trade Joe Johnson for Nene? :trout:

Nene, Curry, Chandler, Kwame

Out of all of them Nene is the shortest.
Out of all of them Nene is the oldest.
Out of all of them Nene gets the most playing time.

PPG
Curry 14.6ppg 29mpg
Nene 11.7ppg 32mpg
Kwame 10.9ppg 30mpg
Chandler 6.1ppg (because of his injury at the beginning of the season and only 22mpg, last season he averaged 9.1ppg)

RPG
Chandler 7.7rpg 22mpg
Kwame 7.2rpg 30mpg
Nene 6.5rpg 32mpg
Curry 6.2rpg 29mpg

BPG
Chandler 1.2bpg 22mpg
Curry 1.2bpg 29mpg
Kwame 0.7bpg 30mpg
Nene 0.6bpg 32mpg

So in the 3 categories I would have to consider the most important for a center or big guy. Nene is averaging the least blocks, 2nd last in rebounds and 2nd in scoring although playing more than any of the others.

Tyson Chandler is a worker type of player. He crashes the boards and excels on defense. Not what I would consider soft or lazy.

Kwame Brown is also strong, doesn't shy away from contact and excellent defender in the post.

Curry maybe soft and doesn't have great conditioning but he is a much much better player than Nene as well.

And all of those guys definately improved and are coming into their own now.

Nene has hardly improved AT ALL.

Last year
28mpg 10.5ppg 6.1rpg 1.9apg 0.81bpg 1.6spg
This year
32mpg 11.7ppg 6.5rpg 2.2apg 0.56bpg 1.4spg

+4mpg +1.2ppg +0.4rpg +0.3apg -0.25bpg -0.2spg

On top of it Nene is older than Curry, Chandler and Kwame.

kwame 3-10-82
curry 12-5-82
chandler 10-2-82
nene 9-13-82

wow i guess i dont know the months march comes after sept.

chandler is 7'1" and 235

but lets just look at your golden child slin nene vs kwame this year.
nene kwame
ppg 11.7 10.9
rpg 6.5 7.5
apg 2.2 1.5
steal 1.46 .9
block .56 .71
fg% .534 .491
ft% .677 .684
mpg 32.4 30.2

no offense slin but in most areas they look perty close and knowing the fact that nene can play and has played center in the west vs. kwame playing in the leastern confence and at power forward. i personally believe that nene has shown that he can be a better player in his second year in the nba vs. kwame in his 3 year.

My bad I was sure Kwame was born 3/10/82 and not 10/3/82.

Or look at their career highs.

Points (Amare 38 )
Curry 31
Kwame 30
Chandler 27
Nene 25

Rebounds (Amare 21)
Chandler 22, twice
Kwame 19
Curry 15
Nene 13

Offensive Rebounds (Amare 10)
Chandler 9 , three times
Curry 8
Kwame 8
Nene 7

Assists (Amare 4)
Nene 8
Chandler 6
Kwame 5
Curry 5

Blocks (Amare 10)
Chandler 7
Kwame 6
Curry 6
Nene 4

Steals (Amare 6)
Nene 6
Chandler 5
Kwame 4
Curry 2

Freethrow Attemps (Amare 17)
Chandler 16
Curry 14
Kwame 12
Nene 11

Freethrows Made (Amare 13)
Chandler 14
Curry 13
Kwame 9 twice
Nene 9

Total (4 points for #1 in category, 1 point for #4)
Chandler 28 points
Curry 19.5 points
Kwame 18.5 points

Marcus Camby is playing center for the Nuggets, not Nene.

And it is pretty obvious that those draft measurements are not accurate anymore.

Don't try to tell me that Chandler is 235lbs. That's ridiculous.

Nene vs Chicago --------------------- Curry vs Denver
14.5ppg 7.5rpg 0.0bpg --------------20.5ppg 5.5rpg 64%FG

*Chandler didn't play in either game so Curry was matched up against Camby anyway.

Nene vs Washington ----------- Kwame vs Denver with Nene
15pts 7rebounds 0blocks ------- 13pts 10rebounds 2assists 1block

And neither Curry nor Kwame play with a player of Camby's caliber at their side who usually covers the best player.

i didnt list wieghs except for nene because that is one of the most flexable areas of the players. but we already know that chandler isnt stronger then amare and amare can get out strenghed from many centers. this can go back and forth all day but it doesnt change where we could get one of these players for our draft pick and maybe casey. i personally dont see chandler or kwame at center in the west. they may have the height but they dont have the mass or the playing style to be centers. i would love to pick up curry and have him come in and prove me wrong, heck i would even be happy for kwame and chandler to brake out and have good seasons next year.

Yeah Nene is a center in the West but Kwame and Chandler aren't.

Kwame and Chandler both are much more a center than Nene.

Nene is larger and stronger than Brown. That is clear if you see them both play. Brown is quicker and has more diversity to his game. Either one "can play center." If the question is just laying mass against someone like O'Neal or Yao, Nene would be better. If the question is all-around game, I'd take Brown at this point.

Chandler is not worth discussing because injuries will prevent him from ever being a force. And Curry hasn't shown anything.

Nene's numbers haven't gone up much since last season, but realize that he has added two front-court teammates who are putting up big numbers: Anthony and Camby. Brown, on the other hand, has been given every opportunity to step up and lead now that Jordan is gone, Stackhouse and Arenas have been hurt, etc. I can't get excited about the modest improvement in his numbers. The fact that, in his third year in the league, he's still losing minutes to Etan Thomas ought to tell you something.

If I had to take one it would be Nene, just narrowly over Brown.

Who the hell cares what their season highs are? I want players to watch consistently good as opposed to players who put up great numbers a few times per season and are less effective the rest of the time. Frankly if he was consistently healthy I would take Tyson Chandler over those other guys in a heartbeat. However if he was consistently healthy the Bulls probably wouldn't trade him. As Eric said, he isn't even worth mentioning because of his injury problems.

Career highs from young players show what they are capable off. Nene rarely ever has a big game. He is solid that is it.

Eddy Curry hasn't shown anything? But Nene has? That makes no sense.

Last season everyone here was saying that Nene probably averaged less than Amare because he was on a bad team. Now you are saying he didn't improve because he plays with better players.

I watched Kwame and Nene several times. Nene is soft and looks lazy on the court. It also looks like he needs to lose weight.
Kwame is definately stronger and taller than Nene. Not only did he measure in taller before the draft, he also has grown which was reported.
He is definately bigger than Jermaine O'Neal and I would say definately stronger.

While Kwame might suffer from the same JJ did he already showed he can dominate. Nene hasn't.

I've heard some rumblings in Denver about Nene not playing very hard. I'm guessing condititoning is an issue, but maybe is not as tough as he first appeared. I still think he will be a very good player, but not as good as he looked like he would be a year ago.

I cannot see the Wizzards moving K Brown now that he is beginning to show he can play. Chandler is a huge risk, Curry appears to his generation's version of Joe Barry Carroll (also called Joe Barely Cares), and Nene has been disappointing. The only reason to go after any of them is on the theory that poor play is due to immaturity or non-recurring injuries. Sometimes people give up on players too early (that's how the Suns got JJ), so taking a guy who has unfullfilled talent can lead to great deals. Or total flops.
