I don't necessarily disagree with the decision. I just think it is way too soon to label him a bust.
I absolutely agree with you man.

There's a pretty big gap between that and "praising his work in practice."
Thanks for digging in and finding that.

Agree. Not sure what purpose it serves to label him a "bust" at the moment. I think it's pretty obvious he's going to get a shot next offseason. If he whiffs, then "bust" he is.
So let's go with another guard in the first round!
Let's not get crazy here, guys. He has value on that rookie contract. No trade value right now, but he's basically the cost of a mid-tier free agent like Daryn College. Can he play at that level? Apparently not right now, but he's going to be on the shelf with only him, Larsen, and Watford under contract in 2015.
Jonathan Cooper not playing because he's 'not one of the best players,' says Bruce Arians
You can't make moves out of fear or history. Two mistakes by the Lions didn't make Calvin Johnson a bad pick. If we have a need at OG, and there is top rated player available, you still have to take him despite your previous miss.
Yes that does make sense. Because one unit is responsible for protecting the QB and the other unit isn't. Also the defensive line has to do more running chasing after RBs and receivers than the offensive players do and thus they need to stay as fresh as possible. You know the d line runs all kinds of guys in and out but the o line you don't mess with the chemistry.. make sense?
Yep. The guards and center need upgrades.Agreed. Depending on what you think about Troy Nicklas' future I think the interior OL is the one position holding this offense back going forward.
