I want my starting QB to have:

Raw Physical Talent
Decision Making Ability
Leadership
Maturity

How many does K1 excel in?
1....another comment was made about leadership and maturity...will he get it? ya' think a bigger bank balance is the answer to that???? the team will be making a serious strategic error investing in a person that shows anything BUT physical talent for the QB position.

Thank You I stand corrected. When I looked at the playoff stats for him I didn't notice the year difference. Either way he has still done more than Murray in three seasons and was not awful as was posted.

I dunno if he's done more than Murray in three seasons. He definitely had developed more than Murray at the ends of their respective third seasons, but, as I said elsewhere, Josh Allen was a punchline at the beginning of his third season and then just came back from the offseason and got like Reverse COVID when you suddenly are like way better.

In pretty much every qualitative and quantitative category, Kyler was better after two seasons, and probably on really similar tracks through two and a half seasons.

Josh Allen's development in his third year is basically unprecedented.
1? The players in the locker room still rally around him. You don't see a mutiny in the locker room about Kyler not being their guy. That alone is worth at least a couple of points.

Scoring him a 1 is bias seeping through.
I mean, the locker room not treating him like Baker Mayfield is a pretty low bar to clear. Where is the evidence that "the players in the locker room still rally around him"? Is there evidence elsewhere in the NFL that pro locker rooms "mutiny" on a QB?

Be nice if we had a leader that showed up to voluntary workouts to workout with the team to try and hone his craft. But I’m sure those squats at his private gym will be good enough.

This is a REALLY silly line in the sand. 97% of veterans don't attend these workouts.

How can people say, 'Allen, Mahomes didn't complain about their contact, why should Kyler?'
but then have an issue where most veterans, regardless of position, don't attend these workouts.

Except Watt and AJ and Conner will be there. For a guy who struggles with communication, being around the people you need to communicate with is probably a good start.

For being a life time "winner" and a guy who believes "winning is all that matters" he sure makes some contradictory choices.

Watt and Conner are both known to be workout warriors. So 2 or 3, out of 60? You have a few of these on every team. Again, this is a really silly line in the sand.

Yeah, it's not a good look. The smart play would've been to show up and show the media you're giving it your all. Even this token gesture would have done a lot to rehab his image.

It’s not silly at all for your team leader and quarterback who needs to improve greatly. In fact it’s just plain dumb imo.

He needs to be in the gym? People (maybe you) were already complaining that he shouldn't be getting his squats in, he should be in the film room.

I don't care that he is in the gym, I care that he is around his teammates.

Explain to me how you are a more effective leader by doing the same thing alone that you could be doing with the team you are tasked to lead?

It is voluntary but again, that means he is making the active decision NOT to be around his team.

Some of you guys will excuse anything for this kid…. If he was playing like a veteran experienced and under control. Showed amazing leadership skills and had this offense dialed in I wouldn’t care. But he is absolutely the furthest thing from that…. AJ Green(the guy labeled as lazy around here) was just interviewed and said he will attend the voluntary work outs. He stated The biggest thing he needs is to get his communication down with Kyler. Hmmm sounds like it would be a good place for Kyler to be and get that started….

I'm not excusing him. I'm also not making a mountain out of a molehill.

Probably only physical talent. His decision making is ok, not great. The rest are mostly not there.

Raw Physical Talent - 10
Decision Making Ability - 6
Leadership - 2
Maturity - 1
I think you're being a bit rough. I'd put leadership and maturity at 4.

He isn't Ryan Leaf. He isn't Johnny Manziel.

I've defended and panned Kyler.

What I will say is that him not showing up is fitting the narrative that he isn't doing enough. Until he doesn't fall off a cliff at the end of a season like he did the past two seasons, those questions are legitimate.

This isn't a time where Kyler is missing OTAs, it is voluntary workouts. Workouts!

Please, keep this in perspective.

Better to get that far and fall apart than the nothingburger we put up against the Rams in the final two weeks of the season.

Whether or not Carson would admit it, something was up with that hand. With Kyler, we came out with the energy of a wet bologna sandwich pulled out of a cooler after an SDS preseason game in August. And the week beforehand, against a Seahawks team that was out of it, he was even worse when we could have won the division and maybe helped ourselves out by getting a home game.

Mopey McMoperson is not exactly inspirational on the field.
I agree with everything you typed except for the home game part lol. We sucked at home so the outcome wouldn't have changed much if at all.

Yeah, but this is the guy who skipped a pre-draft charity event on the cusp of being drafted #1 overall. He’s clearly not concerned with optics.

Problem is he’s not even doing the bare minimum to show he’s a leader. This would’ve been extra credit that would’ve helped his image
How do you know? This whole leader thing is all conjecture at best. You can tell me for a fact that his teammates in the locker room isn't showing that he is a leader?

This is madness the levels some of you will go through to try and prove a point.
