I tend to lean more in the direction of Cheese when it comes to ASU... They are plenty good enough to compete and beat the Cal's, UCLA's, UofA's, Stanford's... But take it up a notch to the Big Time schools like USC & Texas, and the level of athleticism and team speed becomes a HUGE issue...
ASU just doesn't have the horses to compete with the Big Time schools... Would have been interesting to see the difference Torrain would have made, but I still think they would've been destroyed by SC and Texas...

No one thought ASU, after a bad season last year, under a new coach, would do this well in their 1st year. This is all gravy as far as I'm concerned. When Erickson got the job, he said that ASU lacked team speed, and thats clearly showed against the better teams ASU has faced. But, Erickson is doing a good job from what I can tell in recruiting and will probably solve that issue in short order.

EDIT: Thank God this line will be gone next year.

I am going to pray to the tequila Gods that ASU scores a TD on their first possession of the second half.

Wow...its a butt kicking so far. I thought we'd be able to pass the ball better against their defense, the ASU OL is just not giving Carpenter enough time.

Is Herring not playing? I can't remember seeing him in the game.

He's ran it about twice.

Nice FG, but ASU has got to punch it in the endzone, they cant close the gap enough w/ FGs.

Every time Texas tries to let ASU back in this game, ASU blows it. This is ridiculous.

As an ASU fan, it could be said that every time the Longhorns screw up, their defense makes a good stand.

I feel your frustration though.

Bowl games are so much fun. There's so much time between the last regular season games and the bowl you never know what's going to happen.

The NFL should take off for a month and then play games. Just stop from Thanksgiving to Christmas and then start up again. No reason other than to make the season last longer.:D

Hoover, has this game changed your feelings about Rudy Carpenter?

Not at all, Rudy is a very good QB. Lets see Tom Brady try to throw a ball when a 250 lb man is hitting him in the face.

EDIT: Every freaking bounce is going Texas' way. Every time they fumble it, it bounces right back into their arms, this is depressing.

Nice point! ASU's O-line really sucks ass. I am happy to see that you still support Rudy. I don't think he is the most accurate QB, but I do think he is a good college QB.

I was not trying to start a debate, I was just asking you opinion, I know things on the internets can get confused.
