The biggest problem the Devils need to work on is playing their A-game from the opening kick. They actually beat Texas the last ¾ of the game, but they didn't show up to play in the first quarter and that was the difference and set the tone of the game. They never gave themselves a chance.

They may be able to play from behind and stage their big comebacks against lesser teams like Colorado and O-State, but that crap won't work against the major powers like USC and Texas.

They need to start the game with the same intensity as they do in the second half. Oh, and a better O-line and running game wouldn't hurt either...

yeah if there were no first qtr it would of been 34-31 right? but since there is a first qtr it was 52-34. I thought ASU was a BCS caliber team.

Well, Texas and USC showed us how far we have to go athletically to move into the BCS bowl level. In other words, we have a ways to go. In particular, our LBs are not fast enough in lateral pursuit. And, our Oline can't move laterally to save their lives.

It was disappointing. Texas was clearly the better team, but they also got a couple nice bounces of the ball too. The combo led to a blowout.
like the bounce off the kid's thumb? the game may not have been as close as it was if not for that. that was a bad bounce for texas and started a momentum swing for ASU to get back into a game they should never have had shot to win in the first place......based on how the game started.

I've never disliked an ASU player. I remember watching Mark Malone when I was eating baby food. I remember watching Mike Pagel going head-to-head with John Elway. I remember watching Steve Campbell, who could barely run and chew gum at the same time. Those are Devils.

But, I can't stand Judy Carpenter.

I completely forgot about Steve Campbell. What a goofy oaf that guy was. Didn't Snyder used to bring him in to try and block FG's? I seem to recall a game that he threw the ball only about a handful of times and ASU Tomey'd their way to a W.

Texas caught two balls deflected for INTs and had two fumbles bounce their way incuding one for a TD. Straight up, Texas was better and didn't need lucky bounces to beat ASU. They got a couple of nice ones, and whatever chance the game had for any drama evaporated.

Yes, ASU got one back on the play with the "coach", which I was completely sick of by the time the game was over. I swear, ESPN's overkill and overhype just keeps getting worse and worse. You'd have thought that was the MOST AMAZING PLAY EVER IN THE HISTORY OF ALL KNOWN SPORTS the way they :deadhorse:

I agree with you there totally!

I didn't even watch the first half because I was at the Cavs/mavs game.
coming in I didn't expect UT to win by that much...I didn't even know that they would win. so maybe they did get some good bounces. That play is all ESPN wanted to talk about it was so annoying. I just wanted to see some first half highlights, but that's all they would show. I hate ESPN.

My belief after the game was that ASU was slightly overrated by beating teams that they should of beaten.....but losing to teams they should of as well. I know the california win was big.......but california fell off the map for some odd reason too. People who were saying ASU deserved the fiesta bowl need to rethink things a bit. I'll be the first to say UT didn't deserve a BCS bowl even if they'd beaten TAMU.
