Uh, what is going to make the Rockets have the best record in the WC?

Personally, I don't care where we rank (top 4 would be nice), but it's more important that the Suns can actually PLAY in the playoffs. Give the bench some run so in the post-season they can actully be used effectively....

My only goal of the regular season is to have the Mavs and Spurs paly each other before they play us.

The funny thing is, if the Suns wind up with the #1 seed, Hollinger will be lining up to deride them as a 'regular-season team'.

Hasn't Hollinger been bitter about the Suns for some reason for a few seasons now? What was the origin of his beef?

The Suns signing of Steve Nash to a large contract when Hollinger's stats didn't support the signing. Then the Suns continuing to defy his stats with their success.

Hollinger should be a baseball fan.

I think hollinger believes he could come up with a formula to defy gravity. His rankings and conjured stats make my eyes cross.

Yup. Feel the same way.

It doesn't matter how Suns look for 82 games. As long as they can win enough to actually be in the playoffs and not worse than 8, then all is good.

They simply need to play something called basketball after the regular season --- something they've forgotten how to do for the last 3 years.

D'Antoni needs to go 10-deep in April and let Nash, Amare, Marion, Hill, and Bell rest big time. Otherwise say bye bye again in the playoffs.

I couldn't agree less. He should be exploring options with his bench fairly early in the season. Right at the start, getting the the top seven or eight rotation shaped up should be the first priority. Last year, for example, we saw D'Antoni have to shift gears with regard to Amare after a rocky start. This year, it might be Hill, Marion or Diaw - or a combination - that forces an adjustment. Playing too many guys at this juncture could muddy the waters.

Once that is sorted out then you bring in the deeper bench players - hopefully with a plan of what roles you want to have them worked into by the end of the season. Now the regulars get some rest.

By April you terminate the failed experiments and set your playoff rotation. The regulars PT increases for the stretch run building to a peak as the playoffs arrive.

I think he's wrong about the Suns only getting 54 wins but you can't criticise him for doubting the Suns, fact is he has consistently picked against the Suns winning the championship and guess what... he has been right so far.

The Suns won 61 games in the regular season last year with less of a team. Let's face it, our biggest loss was KT, but he didn't play as much in the regular season. The rest of the guys we lost really didn't play at all. Now look that we added Grant Hill, Skinner, Tucker & Strawberry and I can't see a way that we could have a worse regular season record barring any injuries. This team should be even better in the regular season.
