It seem Jeff Hornacek has revised his policy on technical fouls to some sort of middle ground. If teammates exert a calming influence on a player to help avoid a technical foul, Hornacek will use some discretion as to whether that player must sit out the whole game. What caught me by surprise, teammates had been supporting each other berate officials. I didn't know it was that bad.

I do think the hard and fast rule rule of sitting players for the whole game for technical fouls needed some discretion involved.

I like how he started it with a sterner rule of sitting the whole games. These kids would not have changed if he had started soft.

Markieff is at 10 or 11 technicals on the year, at 15 he'll start getting suspensions. I can understand bending the rules some but players like him who are on the verge of missing complete games for actions in previous games need to be reigned in.

It can also be viewed as waffling by Hornacek... changing his stance on technical fouls. Although the Suns could have practiced somewhere else other than Sarver's home, maybe Sarver wanted to help Hornacek set the right tone on technical fouls with the backing of the owner. Teammates supporting players not to get technical fouls should have been the proper Suns stance all along. It makes be wonder if Hornacek was having control issues with some of the players.
