The only things Bender notably improved (SO FAR) are his shooting percentage which was hard not to since he was tied for dead last last year and his PER which is still barely half of the league average and last year was among the worst 60 in NBA history for a player with at least X minutes.
And why do I write so far? Because Bender's shooting percentages are plummeting like a rock already. For December he is back down to 46%TS approaching his his historically bad 44% mark from last year.
